If that is the case there probably isn't anything you really need to "fix"Re: Planning summer 2022 trip to Alaska Fly/RentRented from Great Alaskan Holidays in 2008. We are going again in 2022 and renting from them again.Re: Replacing front landing gear box and motor.Did this exact thing last year. No worries about the trailer falling when removing the motor and gearbox. Easy swap out.Re: Can't Find VIN # plate for 2003 Tahoe by ThorSometimes there is also a sticker on the backside of a kitchen cabinet door. My current trailer has that along with a sticker on the driver side front of the trailer.Re: Can't find my water pumpOn my last 2 5th wheels the pump was accessed from the basement storage. On my Laredo I had to unscrew a panel on the back wall of the basement to reach the pump. That was on the passenger side. On my current trailer, the pump is accessed by a door on the back side wall of the basement.Re: Narrow Staple Gun Bobbo wrote: My Porter Cable air compressor stapler uses those. Do you happen to have a model number for your stapler? Those are the correct staplesNarrow Staple GunMy trailer uses a lot of very narrow staples to hold things together. I have some repairs to do and would like to use the narrow staples too but I can't find a staple gun or staples as narrow as mine. I can find 1/4" staple guns but the staples used in my trailer are probably more like 1/8". Any idea where I might find a really narrow staple gun and staples?Re: Question about removing black tankAre you planning to remove the grey tank(s) also or do you plan to continue dumping them on a regular basis?Re: Double Towing vs ToyhaulerI double towed for a couple of years with either my 2 place jet ski trailer in back or an open trailer hauling my Polaris Ranger. Both worked fine. My 5th wheel was a 29' Laredo and I towed with a 2001 Chevy 2500HD with an 8.1 in it. The setup worked and towed well but you have to remember it is very long. Gas stations can become an extra challenge. Parking lots for stops along the way can be a challenge. When you arrive at your campsite the 1st thing you have to do is figure out what to do with the back trailer. I would bring along a hand dolly purchased from Harbor Freight in order to be able to move around the back trailer. A lot of campsites won't have room for 2 trailers and a tow vehicle. The hitch on the back of my 5th wheel was custom made by a friend and very heavy duty. Did it all work - Yes. Was it a pain at times - Yes. Was it worth it to take my toys to some very fun places - Yes.Re: Help and Advice on a badly placed 5th wheelIf you pulled the trailer backwards and then connected the truck what will you do next? If you are pulling out in the forward direction you will just end up where you started so why not start there to begin with? Or, once the truck is connected, are you going to back out somewhere?
