Just be aware, Lippert does not sell parts for the Ground Control 3.0 legs. I bent my drop legs and had to have the Venture style drop legs machined to get them to fit.Re: Dang...how'd that get thereYou also have to watch those stupid cameras hanging down from the ceiling.Re: Dude! Where's my tow truck?A new or rebuilt short block may be your cheapest option.Re: Ideal V8 rpms when towing?Torque, rpms, sweet spot... it all sounds great, right? Try this try towing your trailer over the same route at different speeds, and see how much your fuel mileage changes at the different speeds. Then pick the speed/fuel mileage you can live with. You'll be surprised how fast your fuel mileage drops the faster you go. When I was working, I was in a hurry, and towed at 75 mph and used to get 4.5 - 5.5 mpg. After I retired, I tried slowing down to 62-65 mpg and my fuel mileage climbed to 8.5 - 10 mpg. I guess I'm not in that much of a hurry any more.Re: front passenger side sagging when connected to truckA friend of mine had a Fuzion and did have a broken frame. If it weremine, I'd get it checked. Better to find it now than when you're on the road.Re: Looking to upgrade to a fifth wheel. troubledwaters wrote: You can tow a lot bigger TT than a fifth wheel and still stay within your ratings - Just Saying. That's not what my owners manual says. My 5th wheel tow rating is higher than the tt tow rating.Re: Landing gear questionJust a note, the drop legs are 31" long and I wouldn't extend them to the last hole, which on mine, is 4" from the end of the leg. If I remember, there are 16 or 17 holes above the foot, depending on what type of foot you have. With that set-up, you're going to have to be careful about how level of a campsite you get. If you get a downhill campsite, you're not going to be able to drop the front enough to get the trailer level, and it's no fun to have to put jacks under the frame and have to reset the frot jacks so you can lower it more, trust me, been there done that. You'll also have to watch the clearance between the trailer and the back of you r truck bed. If you have a sharp downhill, your trailer may contact the truck bed. I had that happen and my truck isn't even lifted. If you have a Ground Control 3.0 Auto-Levelling system, you'll get a fault code if it is out of range.Re: Lippert auto leveling questionFirst, there are instructions on the inside of your LP compartment door. What I do is lower the front jacks a little 3-4 inches, then drop the lower drop legs. Then go to manual mode and lower the front jacks to unhitch from truck, stop when the hitch just starts to lift from the 5th wheel. Un-hook and unplug, pull the truck away, (you may have to backup slightly to take pressure off of your hitch to release the jaws), remembering to lower you tailgate first, and then hit autolevel, and it will take over from there. The jacks are solidly built and will easily take the eweight of the trailer, although I wouldn't start out with it so unlevel that it lifts the wheels off of the ground. You shouild also have a cd that explains how to level your trailer. Your dealer should not have let you leave without demonstrating, especially if your new to 5th wheels, and given that some of the auto-leveling systems were miswired, and may not work correctly. Be careful to not move your trailer when the jacks are down, Lippert does not sell parts for the Ground Control 3.0 jacks, just the entire jacks.Re: How far south do you need to go for ChristmasYou did say Eastern US, right? I snowbird in Sebring Florida, and I can say your best bet is to stay south of I-4 in Florida. We still do get a few cool days and maybe once or twice a winter get frost, but the temperature is usually in the 60's and 70's during the day, with an occasional cooler spell. I'm growing tomatoes and pineapples at my place and so far this winter they are doing fine. Oh wait, I just read "Active 6 year old", most of the campgrounds in that area are "over 55", in that case I'd recommend Fort Wilderness at Disney World.Re: What temperature do you leave your home atI usually set mine at 65, and have had no problems, and my gas bill is minimal. I have read where it is bad for your carpets and hardwood floors to have lower temperatures. especially the carpets.
