" Dish Align " which gives very precise direction to the satellite, with both an arrow and audible signal and "SatFinder Lite" which shows the satellite on an arc when held up to the sky, giving you the azumith and direction. Both can be set to which ever satellite you are looking for, with literally hundreds available. Both are FREE aps available for Ipad or Iphone in the Appstore. Takes me about 5 minutes to set up my tripod dish, without even turning on the TV inside until finished and I can usually get a 98% signal strength. One of our local satellite dish installers uses both apps for installs.Re: washing machine seems to run on too much hotSet to cold water setting and use cold water detergents, Tide etc. They wash just as clean and will cut your costs. In Costa Rica (also available in Canada and US for camps etc)the washers only come with cold water setting. Don't even have a hot water connection.Re: Alberta Friends help me with this route please P Kennedy wrote: Hwy 22 is scenic but you will be stopping and turning through various towns and lots of hills along with slow moving farm equipment. Romore is correct from the border Hwy #4 north to Hwy #3 west through Lethbridge until Hwy #2 north. Go through Calgary on Hwy #2 (Deerfoot Trail) to Hwy 216 west on the south side of Edmonton to Hwy #16 west then Hwy #43 North to Whitecourt. You will save time and traffic is lightest Sunday mornings through the cities. If you want the alternate route I can give it to you, GPS is highly over rated I still use a map. Get off Deerfoot just south of Calgary and catch Stoney Trail ( 4 lane )which takes you around the east side of calgary and rejoins Hwy 2 north of the city. There are no stoplights on the Stoney whereas the Deerfoot is slow and littered with them.Re: What is this wire?Yes two conductors. One hot with fuse, other ground ?? Where does the black lead go....to ground?Re: satellite signal meter for dish setupI use two Ipad apps, Satfinder and dish align. Sat finder lets you point your Ipad at the sky and shows the different satellites on an arc and you align the crosshairs on the desired satellite and read azimuth and elevation on screen. You can specify a specific satellite and only that one will show on the arc.. Dish align is great for getting the direction correct because it allows you to hold it directly over the dish and Lnb to get exact alignment.I use both plus the signal receiver shown above to check signal strength. i can set up my dish on a tripod in about 5 minutes with a signal strength of 92 to 97% every time.Re: Water issueBreakdown of your anode rod (normal), sediment in your water i:e: calcium, salts. Do you use city water, well water ?Re: Reheating beef roastPut the roast in one of those clear cello bags that you can cook in. Add a little bit of gravy and pop back in the oven until hot.Re: So how really bad are the mosquitos in AlaskaYou know that they are bad when two of them grab you and then argue over whether to drain you there or take you home for the kids.Re: Anyone know the grade on Hwy 93 (Icefields Pkwy) in Alberta?Thousands of fully loaded semi trucks, all classes of motorhomes, with and without assorted toads, travel trailers and fifth wheels travel it in both directions every year. No reason why you should have any trouble.Re: looking for electric skillet breakfast casserole recipeWe buy the frozen McCains breakfast hash brown mix, contains onions, peppers, ham, and hash browns, fry it up in the skillet and then just put the eggs on top arranged in sort of portion "piles".
