All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Electric bikes !!I have two E-Bikes, one Pedego Trail Tracker, and a Letric Fold Up. I have had several problems with the Pedego, but the factory has taken care of me, no problems with the Letric. For comfort and ease of riding, the Pedego with the 26" Tires feels more stable and the seat is more comfortable. The Letric is great when I am riding a short distance or my truck is crowded with "stuff". On either bike, I try to pedal as much as I can, as I want the exercise. It is comforting to know that when I get tired, I use the throttle to get me back to where I started. JHRe: Electric Bikes???I have a Pedego Fat Tire Mountain Bike that I have been pleased with. I wish I would have got a bike with the suspension on both the front and the rear. I have never ran out of battery power on any ride, probably 25-30 mile range and then it charges fairly quick. My bike has allowed me to go places and see things that I would have never been able to with a conventional bike. I try to pedal anywhere I go just for the exercise. Just my two cents worth. JHRe: CarportI had a dealer to erect mine, I had my Contractor to pour a 5" Slab with #3 Rebar 16" OC and it still looks great. I had him to dig 8X16" footings just in case at some point in the future I wanted to have Wood or Masonary Walls. Mine is 40' deep and 14' wide, I wished I had listened to my wife when she suggested a 16' wide to allow my slides to fully extend and make walking around/maintance, etc easier, but... I had the ribs in the metal roof turned to allow the snow to slide off and I also did three walls for protection. Instead of a Rolling or Overhead type of Door, I opted to put a Fabric Solar Screen for my large Door. Overall I have been pleased. JHRe: Favorite places to eat in Monterey AreaBubba Gump, on Cannery Row and on the water has been one of our favorites. You can park in one of the Parking Structures and take the free trolly, they stop very near the front door. There are lots of shops in that vincitiy for shopping or people watching. We try to make Monterey one of our stops every year if possible. JHRe: 2017 Ram 68RFE QuestionI believe that is the same Transmission that I have in my 2013 Ram with the Cummins. I have 145K and it has been trouble free. JHRe: Short Class A suitable for boon dockingI currently have a 2018 Jayco Alante 26X. We have been buying a new Motorhome every couple of years, as our needs seem to change. This Class A provided me an "office space" in the front (I still work a little on the road), a Living Room with a TV for some indoor family time, a queen bed in the rear, a Bathroom that I actually fit into and a front Bunk for my Granddaughter that lives with us full time. I downsized from a Fleetwood Diesel Pusher that had very poor ground clearance. The Alante, even with 19" wheels (verses the 22.5 on the Fleetwood has provided ample ground clearance for our Boondocking excursions. The big ol Diesel Pusher had a much better ride than the Alante, but we prefer to "Camp" vs staying at a RV Resort, just personal preference I guess. The Alante also provided an outside TV under a large power awning for those times when I need my own space. There was a noticable decrease in our outside storage, but when we started transfering our "stuff" over to the smaller rig, we decided to only transfer the stuff that we have actually used within the last year, not the stuff that we brought along just in case... we had plenty of room for our actual needs. So far, Jayco has been pretty good about taking care of any issues that have come up. Fleetwood also stepped up for our issues, I wish I could say the same for Forest River on our Class C Forester. Anyway, find what works for your needs and enjoy it, knowing that others needs will be different. Anyway, just my two cents worth. JHRe: Short Class A with no toad?We replaced our Diesel Pusher Motorhome with a new 26' Class A as we like to "camp" more than hang out at a RV Resort, just our personal preference. We tow our Jeep Wrangler most of the time as many of the places that I like to explore the Jeep is more appropriate than the Motorhome. Many times we take our Bicycles, even with the Jeep just for a little exercise. I would hate to think of the things that I would have missed without my TOAD, again just my opinion. JHRe: Small Class A'sWe are enjoying our Jayco Alante 26X. We downsized from a Diesel Pusher as we are more "campers" than an "RV Resort" type of family. The ride on the short Class A is rougher than our previous Class C and it is not as good as our Diesel Pusher with an Air Ride Suspension. But the 26X is comfortable enough for what we do. We pull our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited to many of the places we go, it is noticeable on very steep grades, but we do ok with it back there. JHRe: Death Valley recommendations? We try go to Death Valley every couple of years and we see something new every time. Our last trip was fantastic, on the way, we stopped in the middle of nowhere for lunch. While sitting in the shade eating, we were "buzzed" by a fighter jet that literarily shook the ground where we were sitting. It was a moment that we still look back on and share a laugh at our expressions when it was happening. We visited the Father Thomas Crawly (sp) Outlook where Fighter Jets were training. There were lots of people just hanging out and waiting for them to fly by. We also took a day trip to Titus Canyon and the Leadfield Ghost Town. We also took the time to visit Manzanar, one of the Japanese Internment Camps from WWII along the way. It was quite an emotional event trying to explain to my Granddaughter it's history and the events surrounding it. At Furnace Creek, there is a Resort/RV Park that we try to utilize when we can, it is fairly commercial with lots of amenities if we can get reservations, that is where we prefer to stay. Nearby, there is also a BLM campground with limited Hookups and they have an Overflow spot, but no hookups. JHRe: Any experience renting out your motorhome? While we were traveling off-road in Death Valley, in our Jeep Wrangler 4X4, I was feeling quite accomplished with my little Jeep after finishing a fairly rough and steep road. As we got to the end of this dirt/rock road, I caught up with a guy in a Rental Class C that had just accomplished the same road. I decided then, no one else would be using my hard earned Motorhome.
