All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: cedar creek 38 RDWe have one of the new 2015 Cedar Creek floorplans, ours is the 38FB2. We are full timers so we wanted the additional storage room that the FB2 has with the pantry option. Tried towing it with my nephews Chev SRW 3500 originally since I knew it was seriously over the payload of my F250 Diesel. Ended up getting a F350 dually with the factory Reese hitch. Haven't weighed it yet loaded but am betting on at least 3200 to 3400 pounds straight pin weight. Did a 3 hour plus PDI (used the Tom Boles ver 1.3 checklist) and found three screws not fully tightened and two cabinet latches not properly adjusted, great quality control. Lived in it two of the last three weeks and everything is still good. This is our second Forest River product and we never had a single problem that wasn't resolved to our full satisfaction.Re: Extentded Warranty? Is it worth it?Check out wholesale warranties. The dealer offered me an Xtraride exclusionary policy with 200 deductible for $1900, wholesale warranties was $1400 for $50 deductible. Huge profit center for dealerships plus at the Wholesale Warranties you can choose between the top rated companies. I agree that for $2500 I would forego the extended service plan but with the trouble I have already had with my Dometic double wide refrigerator in the first year, I decided to get the extended service contract.
