Stoli's Black Diamond aka Stoli (6/1/90 - 12/24/03) Cappi's Tiny Java Bean aka Java(3/16/97 - 8/6/04) Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Richard, Be careful with NSAID's, for they will cause Kidney problems. Have your vet check his last blood workup to make sure his kidney numbers are good and if you continue with the NSAID's, have blood work done frequently. There are alternatives to NSAID's, ask you vet about them. I only warn you cause I dealt with a renal failure dog and it's not good. Hope OF gets feelling better soon! Hang in there.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Welcome Arkansas-K9, I work for the Texas State agency (part of Texas A&M University System) that trains US&R teams (Texas Task Force 1) with their canines. I admire what you do cause I know what devotion it takes, first hand.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}The picture of Izzie and Old Fella reminds me of the photo "It was a dark and stormy night". What a hoot! Old Fella looks wonderful! KimRe: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Barb, I can relate to your feelings of having an older pet. I have a dog (Rusty) that's 16.5, totally deaf and can hardly see. He is wobbly and staggers. He can no longer hold his leg up to pee so he kinda squats and goes where he's placed outside. I've covered his room with pee pads since he can't make it through the night. I know that day is coming too, but cherish each additional day he's still with me as I'm sure you do with Tillie.Re: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}Add my two dogs to the contest! My male (Rusty) would be in the senior citizens category since he's 16.5. The female (Cappi) wants to be in the contest for Old Fella's girlfriend. Kim
