I will take a day or two longer if necessary to avoid really bad weather. I went north and then east and then south to avoid high winds, tornadoes, and very heavy rain once. I took off early and just beat a front that had tornadoes that hit where I was staying two hours later.Re: Fulltiming Coming to an End, But Travelling Is NotWe owned a class c, fifth wheel, and now a class a. My wife finds that the class a seat is much more comfortable as well as the ride. This is a diesel pusher. That being said, you really need to go and look, sit, and then drive to see what is the most comfortable for her. What is good for one may not be for another.Re: Las vegasOasis RV Park and Resort. A nice RV park just south of the strip. You don't here gun fire like on the Bolder Highway.Re: Keeping fridge doors shut while travelingThis is the one that I purchased and use. Fridge LockRe: Handling “hard dried stuff” in the black tank ?You can, if you have time, put a quart of home septic tank treatment in the tank with a quarter fill of water. Let it sit for two weeks and drive. You could add the ice and then drive, but all that enzyme treatment should have eaten it all up. Did this to a fully clogged tank and it was so clean the OEM tank level system worked for the next five trips like it did when new.Re: dryerWhat make and model? It could be a belt or the control board.Re: 50A Power Cord ReelHad a power reel in my fifth wheel. No room in the class A. Wish we had one. You have to make sure that the connections in the center of the reel are tight. If not, they can heat and char, or you can get an imbalance voltage with a loose neutral. Don't as me why I know. Other than that they are great. I could operate it by myself. Life could not be better with 50A cord especially when it is stiff and cold. You will enjoy it.Re: Exterior CaulkingI would call Heartland with the last six digits of your vin number to find out what calking the factory uses. If it has silicone in it, Nothing will stick until all has been removed. There are products that can remove the bond that silicone has. I have done it.Re: Tires: Date Code approaching 10 yrs. Toyo or Yokohama?Les Swab had the exclusive North West Dealer agreement with Toyo. Apparently it ran out and was not renewed with Les Swab. Les Swab still sells Toyo tires, but may prefer to sell another brand. https://www.worktruckonline.com/325466/les-schwab-no-longer-northwests-exclusive-toyo-dealerRe: roof replace or coat?If I was going to keep my rig, RV FlexArmor is the only one I would put on. Many locations, but only in the us. Snow birds could do it once you could cross the border.
