BTW, I have a Cruiserlift I'm selling for a fraction of the cost of a Hydralift..Re: Darker exterior color cause higher temps inside? Actually our roof is silver-colored.Re: Darker exterior color cause higher temps inside?Another issue with dark paint is thee checking that have plagued many coaches. While Country Coach probably had the most exposure on the issue, I have seen heat-related checking on just about every brand of coach, including Prevost. We chose a light-colored coach, since we spend much time in the southwest.Re: R.I.P. SullySo sorry to hear that. I enjoyed reading his posts, and he contributed much to the forum. Condolences to his family.Re: 2007 Country Coach Allure 470We had a 1995 Country Coach for 15 years and 125,000 miles. One of the best built production coaches out there. When Winnebago bought up Ron Lee's start up "new" Country Coach, they employed his technicians, so the Winnebago service center in Junction City will service Country Coaches. Oregon Motor Coach nearby was started by Ron's brother Bob after the bankruptcy in 2010, and has well-qualified techs as well. You can find ex-Country Coach employees around the country, and you will have no more, and probably less problems finding qualified techs to work on your coach than about any other production coach. They are about the sturdiest coach built shy of a Prevost, and engine/transmissions can be serviced practically anywhere.Re: washer/dryer useWe had a Splendide W/D in our last coach, and used it maybe 3 times in 15 years of ownership. The dryer took forever, and never totally dried the clothes. We now have an Asko washer and dryer, and we use them a lot. The dryer works on 220V, so it dries clothes as well as our home dryer. We don't use either one going down the road; we start a load when we get to the campground, and by the time we go to bed, it is all finished. The front-load washer could make a real mess if something happened on the road.Re: Chevy P-30 w/454 owners? The weak link in your setup is the 4L80 transmission. Ours just gave up the ghost on the road to Colorado around 1995 (1991 Pace Arrow). No particular reason--we weren't towing and it happened on flat ground. We even had an extra transmission oil cooler on it. Not much you can do about it--later versions used an Allison transmission. All I can do is wish you good luck!Re: Best "A". For under $350,000For $350k, you can buy a 2003 Prevost--Marathon as a nice one for that price. A Prevost will be so superior to any other coach you can get in that price range. We have friends that traded their 2013 Entegra Anthem on a 2000 Prevost. Why? Driving a Prevost is a totally different experience.Re: Do you travel on the 4TH July weekendWe are on the road right now, heading back home after a month on the road. But we'll be back tomorrow before the big return rush happens.Re: Dash air vs generatorI think you would have a difficult time telling the impact on mileage from roof AC or dash AC. Factors like speed and direction of wind, hilly terrain, and time of year will have much bigger impact. We like to keep the whole coach cool, so if someone goes to the back, they will still be comfortable. If you are heading into the sun in summer, dash AC is usually required to keep cool. Climbing step hills in the heat may require turning off the dash AC if the engine gets too hot.
