Then I apply petroleum jelly to rubber seals. I also like to check the burn tubes on water heater and refrigerator, make sure no debris, spider webs and such. While I'm doing that I also take a look at the color of flame, making sure that it's burning properly. Then I'll remove all mothball trays that I had placed at beginning of storage. Last thing after that is to inform the DW that it's ready for her turn... enjoy the coming seasonRe: Walmart....."NO......"Not all Wal-Mart's, those in populated areas, near private parks, metro areas or even some fulltimers who are abusing a privalige and staying too long, remember no fridges or carpetsRe: 1999 Damon Escaperwe have a 2000 escaper, Has the spartan mountain master chassis, with a 8.3 Cummins. Biggest item to look at is the ball joint rubber boots, very common for the boots to dry rot. We had to replaced ours at a cost of 2700 for a complete set. not for just boots; we replaced the entire joint. Otherwise we're very happy. Send me a PM if you want to ask any specific details.Re: bathroom oderwe had a similar problem with an A that we use to own. Our bathroom had the same issue. A urine smell. After the DW scrubbed and scrubbed;the smell remained. I thought that the seal on the toilet was bad. upon removal, the seal that was suspect was found to be good. Well one thing led to another and we decided that since the toilet was removed. We would change out the floor covering and installed new. That of course meant removing the bathroom vanity (which was next to the toilet. Well we install the new flooring. I went into the garage where I had stored the vanity, walking in, I smelled urine stink, at first I suspected one of the animals(pet) had peed. When I went to picked up vanity the odor of urine was really strong. We realized that the smell was in the cabinetry it self. we replaced that vanity with a new one and the urine smell is gone. Hope it helpsKing Rover Satillte and Direct TVWe have the King Rover Satellite on the roof of our motor home. As of right now we have an older receiver in use with it. In our sticks and bricks, we use direct TV with a genie receiver. What I would like to know is; will the genie receiver work on the the king rover dish, I sure that it won't receive the Hi Def portion, but would like to benefit from the DVR function We have a commitment period to honor on the Genie and would like to take advantage of it on the road this summer. Thanks to all who can helpRe: What size 5th wheel plate should I get?The TV is a Chevy 3500 dually with 4 wheel drive. air bags on rear axle, Gear Vendors over and under add on, with a gas 454, 8ft bed with extended cab. GCWR is 19,500. We asked a local dealer to check with the Vin. I guess we need to find out what is the heaviest 5ver out there. It's a 1990 in like new condition. Last owner towed a 20,000 lb equipment trailer with it. claimed to have no issues, driving the truck I completely believe him . So what's the heavy fifthwheel on the market?Re: What size 5th wheel plate should I get?Great! we didn't know if a 16,000 lb plate was considered heavy duty enough. we hope to get the biggest 5ver for our money, we were looking at 38 to 40 footers. we're in the early stages of looking, but ran arcross the used plate and thought it might of been heavy duty enough. We need to zero in on the weight of the larger fivers in order to get a plate that can move all Thanks Bear, for your response; it's really appreciated And thanks to all who can offer positive insightsWhat size 5th wheel plate should I get?Recently purchased a 3500 series Chevy. Vin indicates that gross is just under 20,000 max wt capability. My question is what is the best wt rating to go with. I'm looking at a 16,000 rated plate used. We haven't purchase a fiver yet, but will be soon. We don't want to wait till to we get the camper to buy a plate especially as this plate is hardly used and the price is right. So I guess the question is what size plate(weight wise)do you use?Re: Tongue Weight (getting sucked in by trucks) 1964DeCamp wrote: Hi, I have an old 1964 DeCamp travel trailer. The sticker says it is 2000 lbs...which I fail to believe. Last summer I towed it with a Mercury Mariner, which has a towing capacity of 3500 lbs... however, even with weight distribution, it still feels odd, I get sucked in and a bit squirrely when passing trucks, and going over 60 mph....is there anything I can do to help with the towing? Is this something that could be adjusted within the tongue weight? is there somewhere to have it weighed, or anything I can buy to help getting it to tow better? any help would be appreciated! thanks in advance Try installing a sway bar, if you already have one, then add a second one to the other side. make sure you have the correct tire pressure on the tv. get tire weights at a scale then go to your tire manufactures web site for load capacities and proper inflations numbers and see what is the correct pressure for your tires according to the weights that you recorded at the scaleRe: Towing 5th wheel with 2015 Silverado 1500?Not that 5ver, the manufactures are starting to build fifth wheels designed for 1/2 ton trucks, keep looking
