We use Dish Network and have a 1000.4 dish with both the Eastern and Western LNB's. We can almost all the time get a signal. Been using this setup for 3 years without a problem.
I used a set of LED lights I got online for about $30.00 and mounted them about 2 inches under the awning so they could be seen even if the awning was rolled up.
On ours we just used a screw drive to release the clip and tilt them up. We have restrung most of ours using 50 pound test fishing string and will never have to restring them again.
