I recommend that you go to https://www.popupportal.com/, a site for those that own popup campers. There are some very experienced members there.Re: sailswitch locationTry getting on the https://www.hilotrailerforum.com/ and posing your question. Many times it is the pressure check valve on the pump especially if the pump hasn't been used for some time. The check valve gets dry and sticks. Pumping some water from the freshwater tank can help to prevent that. That check valve is located on the power input end of the pump.Re: Battery MonitorI would think that it does. Our Jayco trailer has one. How accurate they are is somewhat questionable. I guess I can say they give relative readings.Re: Fresh water pumpTurn it on and leave it on. You can do that. Don't be as concerned about the freezer section frosting up as much as the cooling fins in the main section. They need to be relatively frost-free to function properly. As mentioned above, most newer RV fridges have an auto-defrost function that will basically turn off the fridge for a short period of time to allow the frost to melt off the fins.Re: furnace/hotwaterheater wont kick onI assume you have a converter/charger that is contained in the power center. Saying you looked at the fuses I assume you found it. Have you actually tested the fuses, sometimes they look good but are burned out? Depending on the trailer and how it was designed the furnace and the water heater could be sharing a fuse.Re: Reliable Walkie Talkie? One of your battery problems may be the voltage of the rechargeables. They typically are 1.2 volts fully charged vs. 1.5 volts for alkaline batteries. The voltage may be drawn down below a useful level for the radios in a short time after charging.
