The spiders dropped out of the trees at night and a baby snake sought shelter at the base of our tent. I decided I was done tent camping. It's hot, humid and bug-infested in our area. Camping in the south takes some nerves I don't have and I guess because of that I'm less inclined to shove the kids into a tent LOL. We did camp another time at a different lake and it wasn't as bad with spiders at night (literally set up tent on the lakeshore away from trees) but I wouldn't say the kids are fond of tent camping. :/Re: Kids growing up and we want to downsizeBradnailer, I think that might be the route we take. Something has to give to go smaller and while I'd like the youngest to have his own bed, it might have to be a fold-out.Re: Kids growing up and we want to downsizeThanks everyone for the ideas! I almost wish we could have two RVs! One for 'with adult kids' and one for 'without' because like someone above said, to get a bed that fits an adult other than the main bed, you seem to have to stay around the 28ft or face the coffin issue. Doug, that's exactly the type of second bed we want to find. Our boys are all tall like Dad except the oldest (who is also the only willing to sleep in that one small twin in our laredo). They range between 6' to 6'2. I see quite a few of these lite trailers also have the main bed at a 74" length also which wouldn't be too comfortable for 72" hubby. We're going to have to do some thinking on what we are willing to give on and what we aren't.Re: Kids growing up and we want to downsizeDick, I should have clarified, we like the layout on the sunset but as you mentioned, it's not much of a downsize so we're hoping to find something that might be similar but smaller.Kids growing up and we want to downsizeHi everyone! Husband and I are discussing downsizing our Keystone Laredo 302LT. Two kids in college and 3rd heads off next year leaving us with one son left at home. Our current RV is a monster to haul, clean, and with much bigger bodies to fit into the beds (and loft is pretty much done as a space for them now) it's not a great fit for our family. We like the set up of one trailer the best so far, the Sunset Trail 28BH (crossroads RV) but the tow weight isn't much of an improvement. We do have 3 small dogs so space for them is important also (they are not outdoor puppies!) We'd like the one son to have his own bed and one that does not feel like a coffin, as the boys have so lovingly dubbed the one dedicated twin that we do have in our Laredo. We are also not keen on having to make up a bed every night (got old fast as well as walking into the frame on the way to the bathroom at oh-dark-thirty). When we were at the beach we popped into a camping world to pick up a couple of things and we took a stroll through their trailers and that Sunset was the only one we liked. But I know that there's so many brands and floor plans that one can't begin to scratch the surface which is why I figured asking here for some ideas could help in our search. Thanks in advance!Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!BeeDub, the inside looks great. :) That bench is neat.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love those little trailers! Very cute!Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Bee, you should post some inside pics! It looks great from the outside so any black streaks aren't showing too much in the picture. Coop, nope, not a toy hauler. It's a loft model which is why there's a really high ceiling. We did look at toy haulers but those are definitely too heavy for our truck. That high rear end on it was very initimidating when we picked it up. But oh so nice when you're inside. :)Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thank you! I think it's the openness that really sold me. The huge ceiling really makes it feel very spacious and there's a window over the slide that keeps it very bright inside even with the lights off.Re: HEY we need a sticky for our TT pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Sure! We went out today and took some to send to our friends and family so I've got them uploaded now. Picture of the bedroom: Living space, loft above (we're going to sleep two kids up there at night) + the one dedicated bunk for one child to sleep. Bathroom (there is a wardrobe cabinet with countertop that is behind the shower wall and it's very roomy) This is the wardrobe cabinet in the bathroom This is the view into the bedroom area. It does have the sliding doors on each side for privacy and swivel tv. Excuse our utility step stool, fly got up in the top window and I couldn't reach him LOL. Outside kitchen which I mostly wanted for the refridgerator to hold extra drinks and condiments for outside bbq! This has the air bed sofa. Since our kids are all teens but one, we wanted something that would sleep our kids, give us space, but not be unnecessary in a few yrs when our oldest kids leave home. We really love this floorplan, it feels very open and not cramped at all. We can't wait to take it out next week!
