There was also a 3 amp fuse in the control panel which had burnt out which I had to replace. Everything is working now :)Re: HWH Control Box meltdownI will try to short the moter too see if it still works.... Thanks for the infoRe: HWH Control Box meltdownAs you can see from the forst two pictures the damage is quite extensive, I don't think theay can rebuild it. https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipMarNjMLdzInZQ436vBnmrVcTNYiVp6gUhJR-2g https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOf5hShDef8b2ZMPxbEkA5l1beGEudIHyf2NeOP This is the back of the unit: https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipNtAwZ-PdNBzmsSKk5R3InnXZwF9T4F_8g3MzEKRe: HWH Control Box meltdownRAP30045 Control unit (not panel)HWH Control Box meltdownHi all! I have a Tiffin Allegro 2004 32BA equiped with HWH 325 hydraulic system. On a recent trip one of my red lights was on to indicate a partially extended jack. This occurs often on hot days, the jack is only extended about a 1/4". I was told by the dealer to just activate the STORE button and not to worry about it overheating as it would cycle off automaticaly after 2 minutes. Well this advise worked for the past 19 years. However on my last trip I stopped to gas up and after the vehicle sitting still for arond 15 minutes without airflow over the control box it started on fire from the inside and completley melted the circuit board and housing. The fire spread to the exterieur but luckily was able to extinguish it before any major damage to the motorhome. Obviously my jacks no longer operate. I have removed the control box and there appears to be no damage to the wiring connections to the harnesses. I would like to order a new Control box unit from HWH but I would like to know what type of tests I should run before ordering it at 800+ I have run power directly to the solenoids and can here them click so i presume they were not damaged. Bit I would like to know how I can verify the pump motor is operating. Your insights ans suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank You GerryRe: Alternator not charging house batteries Allegro V10 2004To activate the solenoid I ran 12v to the little post in the middle. Presently there is a small lead there which i believe come from a connecter with 3 small wires coming from the alternator. I unplugged the lead from the alternator and tested for voltage while the engine is running (there are 4 posts, i tried each individually) and have no voltage reading. I will start my search for a fuse from the ignition switch and test all the fuses in the block as Doug suggested. And yes I have a dash emergency start switch, i will investigate this as well. GerryRe: Alternator not charging house batteries Allegro V10 2004Thank you all for your inputs... I am going to be busy the next few days working on your leads and I will keep you posted ! Thanks GerryAlternator not charging house batteries Allegro V10 2004Hi all ! Although my house batteries charge fine when plugged in or running on the gen set but they do not charge from the alternator. I have verified all the solenoids and latching relay and evertything appears to operate properly. However I have located and tested the battery isolation solenoid (between the batteries and the alternator) and it is not getting any power when I turn on the ignition. When I apply 12V positive to the solenoid it operates. What should I do to get power here ? Tiffin Allegro BA32 2004 Ford V10 Thank you GerryRe: Activating Hydraulic jack blows fuse and stops extendingthanks I'll check it out tomorrow morning......Re: Activating Hydraulic jack blows fuse and stops extendingHi Bud, thanks for the manual links.... I found mine and it sounds like the solenoid is the problem. When you say "Test solenoid conductors for any continuity to ground." Should there be continuity or not ? (I'm not very electrical :) ) Gerry
