We have had our Creekside 20FQ for four camping seasons and have really enjoyed it. I had to replace the water pump this year, but otherwise it has been very reliable. It does have a short queen bed which may not work for you.Re: Outdoor RV qualityWe have a 2015 Outdoors RV Creekside 20FQ. This is our 4th camping season and we have really enjoyed the trailer. During the first year we had one warranty item that needed attention. Some bolts came loose in the awning support, so we let the dealer fix it. That's the only time the trailer has been back to the dealer. I didn't like the comfort of the dinette, so we removed it and added two swivel reclining chairs. I replaced the water pump about a month ago. Everything else has been a modification like adding solar, inverter, fan, fan covers. The Creekside is all packed for another camping trip. We are leaving tomorrow for a week on the Oregon coast. We will change to a 5th wheel in a couple years. We will probably buy the Outdoors RV Glacier Peak F28RLS. So yes, we like the Outdoors RV products.Re: Hensley/Propride owners -- Leaving trailer for maintenance?I have only taken my trailer to the dealer one time for service. We left the ProPride hitch bar for them to use to connect to a truck or receiver on a forklift. When we returned to pick up the trailer they had left the hitch bar attached in the receiver of the hitch. I couldn't pull it out by hand. The dealer attached a strap to the hitch bar and tugged on it with their forklift to pull it from the hitch. I'll never take the trailer to a dealer again. I either handle the problems and modifications myself or when I've needed help I use a mobile RV tech. The mobile RV techs have been great! There is no waiting a long time for service, they come to you and they have good RV knowledge.Re: How many trips? When we first purchased our trailer we took trips that were long weekends of 3-4 days duration. During our first couple years we would probably take around 10-12 of these per year. Then we started to venture out a little farther from home. We would take fewer trips but the trips were longer in duration, around a week. The longer trips were good and not as rushed, but I only have four weeks of vacation per year. I need to camp more than four weeks per year! So this year I have reached an agreement with my employer to reduce my work schedule. In addition to my four weeks of vacation I will be taking an additional four weeks of leave without pay. There will be eight weeks of camping in 2018! We will not drive across the country on a multi-week trip. The agreement with my employer is that I limit the extra time off to one week at a time. This is fine because most of the trips will be within our home state of Oregon. So, as beginning campers we started out with long weekend trips and now we have advanced to eight one week trips during camping season!Re: ProPride WD Jack twists when raisedI have never seen this happen with my hitch. I would call ProPride.Re: How big of a solar system is enough? We have a 150 watt panel on the roof and a 100 watt portable panel that is handy for those times when you are parked under a tree that is shading the roof panel. The portable panel can be moved around on the ground to capture direct sunlight. When in full sun its nice to have both panels providing power.Re: The most reliable Travel TrailerWe have a 2015 Creekside 20FQ made by Outdoors RV. This is our third camping season with the trailer that has included 25 camping trips. We have had no problems. We have done many modifications, but these were to make the trailer more comfortable or functional. We removed the dinette and added swivel rocking recliners to make it more comfortable. To make it more functional for dry camping we added solar panels, AGM batteries and inverter. Outdoors RV has a good reputation for building a quality product. We have been happy with ours!Re: Farthest tow..?In two years of RV camping, on 25 different camping trips, my longest trip has been 142 miles. There are so many good Forest Service and State Park campgrounds in Oregon I haven't needed to take a long trip. In May, we are headed to another Oregon State Park. Distance is 132 miles. This will be a long trip! :)Re: Electric Blanket or Heated Matress PadWe use a dual control heated mattress pad. My wife likes her side warmer. It uses a small amount of electricity. We power it using the inverter when dry camping.Re: Wind deflector for solar panelsMy 150 watt panel has been mounted on the front part of the roof for two years with no problems. I was initially worried about the strong airflow pushing against the panel. But after 25 camping trips, now I don't even think about it. If properly mounted, the panels will stay on the roof.
