I pull an 30' 2011 Flaggstaff 5th wheel with a weight just under 7,000 lbs. I've gone from Cape Cod to St. Augustine, New Orleans, up through Kansas, and return to Cape Cod for 5 years. I've had no problems whatsoever over 3 - 4 months of travel in the last 5 yrs. Don't tell me my 1/2 ton can't do the job.Re: Possible???North Beach Camp Resort is never full during the month of January.Re: Jacksonville FL, Where!!!Another vote for North Beach Camp Resort in St. AugustineRe: I-95 SB from DC worst in United StatesWe travel from Cape Cod to Fredericksburg VA (usually on Jan 1) our first day headed south and hit DC around noon - 1 pm. The only place we hit stop and go traffic is from DC to Fredericksburg. It is without question the absolutely worst part of the trip and usually lasts that entire stretch.Re: Civil War Trail - Virginia / West VirginiaIf any way possible, get Gettysburg into your plans. Start with the Visitors' Center; take a guided bus tour; then double back with the self-guided auto tour. For a different perspective read "When the Smoke Cleared at Gettysburg," which relates the inhabitants' experiences before, during, and after the battle. Awesome place to visit. Get a lunch at Dobbins' Springhouse Tavern.Re: cost of replacing rubber roof on 35 foot fiver?DELETERe: Florida 1st time spud1957 wrote: Thanks for all the responses. North Beach? Nice looking park but almost $90/night Canadian? Too rich for me. Clerbrook Golf and RV Resort? Good potential. I hope to bring my clubs. Rates aren't too extreme. For the coming season at North Beach the rates are: November through February is $905(US) a month or about $30(US) a night (electric is extra ... about $1.25/day) AND we're blest with several of your countrymen/womenRe: Florida 1st timeI can tell you from past experience North Beach Camp Resort in St Augustine has plenty of space in Jan and Feb, but it fills up in March...not sure about Nov/Dec Our first year ('06) we spent a week at a time in 12 different places and had no trouble getting those one-week reservations. Good luckRe: Any website that shows rv parks along my route?https://www.epgsoft.com/CampgroundMap/ Just zoom in enough for the locations of many (not all) campgroundsRe: Traveling I-10 WestFrom Jacksonville to New Orleans you'll find a nice almost traffic-free ride. After that I don't know.
