We're probably coming up on 50k miles with the camper onboard - you'll be fine. We're out for months at a time so really love the extra space in the truck for storage. If I had to do it over again, I'd not get the factory air suspension. I think the new trucks level side to side, but ours doesn't, so we're always riding lower on the right (slide) side. We had a sway problem also, but Helwig came out with a sway bar for the air suspension trucks and that made a huge difference. Re: 2020 Ram 3500 OEM Rear Air SuspensionWe have a '16 megacab dually with the factory air suspension. Hopefully the '20 levels side to side, but ours doesn't. We have probably 50k miles with an Arctic Fox 811 in the back. It's heavier on the passenger side which causes about 1" of difference measured at the airbag locations. Add in normal road camber, and it's a noticeable lean. The other problem with the factory air and a truck camper is the sway - it's pretty pronounced. Good news is that Hellwig has a new sway bar compatible with factory air, and it's worked great. We have maybe a few thousand miles with this new sway bar and it has really made a noticeable difference. The big advantage for us with the factory air setup, is that this is also our primary (only) vehicle and it really makes unloaded driving much, much better than conventional suspension. This is our third truck camper and truck over maybe 20 years. We travel quite a bit and live in them for months at a time, so I guess we're fairly knowledgeable. If you're primarily driving with the truck camper I probably wouldn't recommend the factory air, and definitely not if it doesn't now level side to side.Re: Short box dually? Here you go: Re: Short box dually? We have the exact setup you're asking about - '16 megacab, short bed dually with an Arctic Fox 811. We full-timed with this setup 9 months last year, and are getting ready to head out again in December for probably most of next year. I think we've probably done over 30,000 miles with this setup, including a run up the haul road to Prudoe Bay. You'll be fine :)Re: Arctic Fox 811We're right at 12' ('16 Ram Dually Mega-Cab). We have factory air which is usually set at normal height.Re: Verizon Prepaid $65 Unlimited Jetpack DataPlan Ends 5/21/19I just signed up. The online option only had the cheaper hotspot, but I was able to speak with a rep and was able to order the 8800 jetpack over the phone. This is a US plan but she did say it was good for Canada and Mexico.Re: Honda Grom on front reciever?I think you're fine. We've carried a TW200 for thousands of miles - I seriously doubt you'll know a Grom is up there. A few things: get a really good carrier. The Harbor Freight ones are pretty flimsy and that's not a place you want something to fail (we've got a VersaHaul), plus the cheap ones can really flex. We have a Ram and they make a low and high hitch for the front. Make sure you're getting the lowest receiver they sell for your Ford. The bike may block your headlights, so it may limit your driving hours. I need to roll my brake lever up when traveling. If we take a good bump the flex was allowing the lever to hit the hood. We've had no trouble with blocking the air flow to the radiator - no noticeable change in engine temp, and we've done long miles in the summer heat of the South. That said, remember you'll be adding about 3' to the front of the truck. It gets to be a pain maneuvering, and you really have to watch your clearance going over dips.Re: Musk Ox butting heads on the Haul RoadWow, great video! We just got back from Prudhoe Bay ourselves. Camped on a gravel bank at I think mile 407 and a few musk ox sauntered by maybe 30' from the window.Re: Artic Fox 811 vs. Eagle Cap 811 rider997 wrote: The Eagle Cap's driver-side slide makes it essentially useless to us. We regularly park in various locations in which it would be impossible to open the slide. We also overwhelmingly prefer the beautiful, spacious, and functional cabinetry in the Arctic Fox. Another AF plus for us was the Fox landing. The Eagle Cap is a good camper, but it just wasn't for us. We're actually full-timing right now in the AF 811. The Fox Landing is worth its weight in gold. About my only complaint is that I wish the cargo rack was a bit more functional. I'm not crazy about putting things directly onto the roof liner, and and it's pretty hard securing things with the front open (we keep our inflatible kayaks up there).Re: How to carry motorcycle tuna fisher wrote: Carried my Honda Trail and TW200 up front for many years with no problems ever with my Diesel GMC. Over 100 pulling hills no problems, like others you do loose the lights but I don't run at night anymore. As far as I'm concerned with a TC it's the only way. Springtime you do have a bug guts problem, but only on 1 side. We carried a TW200 on the front also, for thousands of miles. Same problem though - we loose a headlight. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's pretty stressful if you end up running late and have to drive in the dark. We learned to roll the clutch lever up when traveling. The bike bounces around a bit, and the lever can hit the hood in the normal position. But we're full-timing in the truck camper right now and have found the bike to be more trouble than it's worth. On the front, you can add about 3' to the overall length which makes us too long for a normal parking space. And the big thing was the ground clearance - you really have to watch you don't nose dive, like when coming out of a gas station. If you do decide to carry on the front, I'd recommend spending the extra money and getting a VersaHaul -they're really beefy and have an extra set of tie-down points. Edit: How do we post pictures on this forum? Looks like we'll need a photo hosting site?
