Hi Guys We are in the process of changing the account information Good Sam Parks have access to via the lookup to city, state & zip. As mentioned in my previous post, Good Sam Parks need to confirm Good Sam Club membership to enable the park to apply the Good Sam member discount for members. Hello AllegroD Thank you for sharing your concerns regarding personally identifiable information as it relates to Good Sam. Good Sam provides account lookup access to Good Sam Parks through a secured login to confirm Good Sam Club membership to enable the park to apply the Good Sam member discount for members who don't have proof of membership with them at check in or time of reservation. The information is not shared for marketing or other purposes. We will continue to ensure that we provide limited information to Good Sam Parks on our members as it relates to personally identifiable information. You are correct...Good Sam Parks are not franchised parks or owned by Good Sam. They are independently owned parks and campgrounds.Parks have to meet certain criteria and rating minimums in order to qualify to become Good Sam affiliated. Our rep teams -- all experienced RVers -- inspect and rate private parks all across the US and Canada and assign the Good Sam 3-tier ratings (i.e. 10/10*/10) -- which is what we publish on our website. I work on the AAA/Woodall's Guides as well as the Good Sam Directory. We will again offer the Regional AAA/Woodall's Guides for 2014...available at AAA Clubs by the end of the year. Hi Everyone I am Ann Emerson, VP & Publisher of the Directory and Good Sam Park Network, and want to jump in and clarify a few things. First, our agreement with Good Sam Parks is for an entire year. If a park is shown as a Good Sam Park in the 2013 Directory, then that park remains in the network throughout 2013 and will honor the discount throughout 2013. It is very rare for us to drop a Good Sam Park during the year. The suggestion to alert Good Sam members about a Good Sam Park that has been dropped from the network during the year is a good one so we’ll find a way to communicate this to Members. Our Directory is very accurate and up to date and can be relied on throughout the year for your travels. We find that our Members rely on both our print Directory and websites when planning travel and while on the road…both are tools to help you find the right park. If there is ever any concern about a Good Sam Park not giving our members the 10% discount, then we want to hear about it immediately. When this happens we contact the Park directly and address the problem right away. Thanks for the great discussion on this. Hi There are several different ways parks are incorporating online reservations into their businesses -- some are offering real time reservations and some are doing a variation of real time. We want to offer our Good Sam Parks the tools to provide Good Sam members 'real time' reservations, so you can book a site at your convenience and know it's a confirmed booking. While we can't make our Good Sam Parks offer this kind of online reservation service, we can make the necessary software and tools available to them - helping them with this piece of their business and meeting Good Sam members' needs.
