Don’t cheap out and you can alleviate some of these issues. Add on light bars are designed for off road use and are, most likely, not legal to use on the road (although that doesn’t stop a lot of people). ....and legality. Most aftermarket LED setups are not DOT approved.Re: New Ford Chassis garyemunson wrote: That should mean we'll see them on the 2021 RVs. The chassis are always the previous year from the coach. Always the possibility that Ford built up the V10 inventory to carry them through the retooling so maybe it will be a mid-year 2021 change. What I wonder is how long Ford will keep producing the old E-450 chassis before beefing up the new van system to replace it. Not always. I have a 2011 on a 2011. I know of some on a two year old chassis too.Re: If you had a do-over, which would you get?I've had an MB based class C (Itasca Navion) since 2011. It was ordered new. If it was destroyed today I'd likely go out and order a 2020 View/Navion. I find maintenance easy on the Benz, mostly because the engine is so accessible. The oil filter is up front at the top. If one invests in an oil suction pump, one doesn't even have to get under the vehicle to change the oil/filter. I also like the driving position a lot.....especially with no engine in the cab with me.Re: 2019 Mercedes SprinterI believe Winnebago is delivering them now.Re: Sumo SpringsIt will be stiffer. How stiff depends on the rate of springs installed. I have them on the rear of my Sprinter based RV and it's stiffer, After lifting the front that much I would be inclined to get the wheel alignment checked. The E series has a lot of geometry change with vertical wheel movement due to the swing axle suspension and you just moved the static position 1 1/2 inches.Re: Valve stemsBorgsRe: Towing travel trailer with a Sprinter C? carringb wrote: Hitch rating =/= Tow rating. GCWR of the Sprinter cutaway chassis is 15,250. IMO thats awfully optimistic for 170 HP to start with. Your motorhome probably already weighs 11,000 pounds, so you'll be down to ~4,000 remaining towing capacity. Weighing the motorhome is a must. It's pretty easy to max out the rear axle on Sprinters (well, most Class C's really) even without carrying any hitch weight. ...AND the tongue weight of the trailer comes out of the OCCC.Re: Thinking of downsizing from DP to View ron.dittmer wrote: Dakzuki wrote: gemsworld wrote: Winnebagos with compressor refrigerators are equipped with 200 watts of of solar panels. ...which are tits on a boar when camped under trees. That is why I dropped my pursuit for solar. We seek shade all the time, and it does'nt take much shade to render solar useless. There is an alternative which can help. I have a ground deploy setup on 40' of cord. If the RV is in the shade (which it usually is at some point) I can deploy solar into the sun (so far).Re: Thinking of downsizing from DP to View gemsworld wrote: Winnebagos with compressor refrigerators are equipped with 200 watts of of solar panels. ...which are teats on a boar when camped under trees.
