New battery. Model #: 5.5HGJAB-6755J Serial #: D120326173 The generator will start and immediately shut down. If I start it again, the engine will run (and sounds fine) but it must be in a fault mode because it will not power anything in the RV. If I shut it down and restart, the process of shutting down immediately and running in fault mode repeats again. When the generator first starts and shuts down, the diagnostic light flashes 3 times, which indicates a "service fault". I press "stop" and the specific code 45 flashes, meaning "Speed Sense Fault" (Controller unable to sense quadrature frequency). I'm fairly technically and mechanically inclined, but this is the first issue I have with this generator and it's electronic controls. I was hoping someone more familiar with it could give me an idea on which parts I should start with to test and/or replace. Thanks in advance.Re: Two Sewer Outlets?Indeed it is a pain! My TH has a rear half bath with its own tank and usually I tell the family to only use the main bath so that I don't have to move the sewer hose.Re: Is it just where I am that diesel and gas cost the same?Diesel $3.60 /gal in south Louisiana. Same station has regular gas for $3.69 gal. but it's ethanol-free so it's a little higher than most other stations vRe: How many miles do you get out of your good tires? If you make a lot of tight turns on paved surfaces then I could see how a triple axle trailer could go through tires fairly quickly. I know on my 5th wheel, anytime I make a turn the front axle and rear axle's tires "scrub" laterally on the pavement. I just replaced the factory China bombs and 4 of the 6 tires had some lateral wear. The middle tires were perfect. Do you rotate your tires? If you don't, then doing so might get you about 5000 extra miles based on your estimate of mileage.Re: 2015 Silverado 3500HD-Gooseneck Hitch PackageThe B&W Companion IS a 5th wheel hitch in EVERY way. It just mounts to the gooseneck receiver.Re: Multiple Blow-outs fj12ryder wrote: EBA75, sounds like a very common scenario with ST tires and a medium to large 5th wheel. The tires will be hot, temps over 100° are very normal, so that will feel hot when you check with your hand. Summer tire temps will likely run well over 115° The side in the sun will run much hotter than the other side. I blew 2 tires within an hour of each other. I had no more fixed the 1st than an hour later the second one blew. Triple axle toyhauler, not overloaded, no excess weight on any particular axle, total trailer weight was around 12,000 lbs. on 6 Carlisle ST 235/85R x 16 tires. They were less than 2 years old according to the date code, and had less than 8,000 miles on them. These tires had not been damaged, had 80 psi, and the weather was not overly hot. Speeds around 65 mph, sometimes up to 70 to pass, but not extended times over 67 mph. Uses more fuel. :) Simply put if you're running ST tires on a medium to large 5h wheel, you're rolling the dice IMO. I'll never have another trailer of any kind with ST tires. So you have LT tires on a triple axle 5th wheel? How do the tires handle the extreme sidewall flexing that happens when turning sharply? That is the one reason I went with Maxxis ST tires instead of LT tires.Re: Do not use Good Sam InsuranceAs far as I know, Good Sam doesn't write insurance policies. They are just a broker for multiple other companies. My insurance is through Good Sam, but it was written through National General (formerly GMAC). What insurance company is your policy written through?Re: good sam ins. age discrimination fla-gypsy wrote: GS uses GMAC which is higher than others because their cut is based on revenue they generate for them. Not necessarily. I just switched BACK to Good Sam Ins. through GMAC (now National General) because they had lower prices than everyone else. A buddy just left them because his premiums went up. It seems it's a game where they price competetively to get your business then go up on premiums figuring you're not going to shop around.Re: 5th wheel RV, needed to haul from Sulphur, LA to HoustonI will be travelling from Houma, LA and passing through Sulpher on my way to Houston on June 11th and may be able to help you out. PM me if you can wait that long and we'll work out the details.
