It's nothing more than a huge cesspool of root beer colored water that makes foam at waters edge. Dead Tilapia (fish) are everywhere. It stinks....it's ugly and the wind is relentless. 20-30 years ago, the fishing was great for large (10 lb+) orange mouth corvina. Although I have not been there in a couple of decades, I can imagine this fishery is bleak, if even that. This "Sea" is fed on the south end by the New River. This river starts up with agricultural runoff and irrigation canals in Mexicali Mexico. By the time this "river" makes it way north across the Imperial Valley in CA, more AG runoff, with the attendant chemical composition of fertilizers and pesticides, it's very toxic to fish. Birds and critters love it......it's classic riparian habitat. The water itself is very salty......way more than the open ocean. Frankly, I would never ever go there again. It's that ugly.Re: Smart and dumb ways to handle $ when selling my rvI had this same discussion with my daughter in law bank branch manager. Once a cashier's check has been cut, the account from which it has been written from is immediately (electronically) debited from that account. You (account holder) cannot just call the bank and tell them to cancel that check. The uncashed check must be returned to the bank by the account holder before any consideration is made to credit back those funds.Re: Leaving 5th wheel for a month in Vegashttps://www.lovesstorage.com/self-storage-las-vegas-nv-f1416Re: Electric Tongue Jack HeightLaydown tailgate like a pickup or side swinging gate? Does your existing manual allow the gate to be dropped down, or swing out fully? Amazon returns are easy....if it was an Amazon sold item. Longer shank ball mounts are available also. I cannot fully lay down the tailgate on my truck with a Husky power jack.Re: Solar Panel Blah Blah Trivia That Actually Is SurprisingI think a modern nuclear plant can fill the power needs into the future. Once some brilliant scientist can mitigate the waste into a pile of garden fertilizer.Re: Solar on a small TTI am a huge fan of solar power......it's FREE after the initial costs are paid. But.......solar requires sunshine to work. If you like a nice, cool shady spot.....the output will disappoint. You cannot easily move the trailer around to get some sun with a rooftop, but with a 15' cable from a portable panel, finding a sunny spot becomes less of a challenge. A typical 100W solar panel is 47" long by 21" wide.Re: 1st Time. Going crosscountry. Question for experienced folksYour truck setup will do it..... It will get the load moving forward, and cruise right along just fine on flat ground. Once you get to pulling a grade, that engine is going to scream at 4000+ RPM to keep the load moving...even down to second gear at times. I know this because I tried to tow a #5500 (CAT scale) trailer with a F-150 with a 5.0 V8 over grades in the West. Sure it would do it......but for me anyway, I want more than "just do it" And I wanted more than just at or near capacity.Re: F150 for "light" towingFord F-150 XLT 6'6" bed...... Either a 5.0 V8 or the ecoboost V-6. Auto trans. Either will tow that trailer easily. Only thing I would do is step up to "E" rated tires. #1 option for me would be 4x4, as an XLT is very well equipped with the bling.Re: South Dakota Insurance IncreaseProgressive told me after I complained of a rate increase, it was due to the ever rising costs of accident injuries. Even with the increase, they still beat the run of the mill firms...State Farm, Prudential, Nationwide and Allstate......by $200 clams every six months.Re: Thoughts on Ocean Canyon/Coast to Coast Membership???I think you did well with not buying on the spot and deferring for further research. To me anyway, any organized "sales pitch", loaded up with heavy hitter closers and obstinate, pushy salespeople would make me hightail it to the nearest Interstate. Certainly.....you may find otherwise and good luck.
