Usually it is 6 or more items long.Re: We think we're ready to start RVingBuy more truck than you think you need or go lighter than you think you'd like. Wish I had a duramax or had a trailer coming in at 3,000 less pounds.Re: Is this normal or are we just darned Lucky?Your are lucky. Or I am unlucky. Every time I go out for a trip in my sprinter I come back with a list of repairs to work on for the next trip. My TT is a train wreck. List from the last trip.... Jacknife couch came unhinged, sliding door off the track, bathroom fan vent screen snapped off. But the kids like it.Re: 1/2 ton towing observations.. (probably need a 3/4)I have a Suburban 2500 with a Vortec 8.1L rated for 12,000 lbs. It is the biggest gas moose you can buy. I tow a 8,250 lb dry weight TT with it. Does it work? Yeah it works OK. But it is no fun to tow and the drive is more stressful than I'd like. IMO, if you want a pleasant, worry free towing experience you cant do it in a half ton gasser. Next vehicle I buy will be a duramax/allison 2500. I cant wait.Re: Musty smell after sitting a long timeI hope I am wrong but IMO... Musty odor = leak = damage = Delam. If it were my RV, I would not give up until I found the source.Re: First Time owner.Make sure that your "old leak" is not a new "old leak". Then make sure again.Re: Why aren't travel trailers made this way ?Oh and a smart lawyer somewhere should put together a class action lawsuit against these EPDM roofs. Its an outrage.Re: Why aren't travel trailers made this way ?I have seen it said so many times..... "Nothing will change because we keep buying them". "They don't build quality because we are to cheap to pay for it". So I get it now, its OUR fault. Neither is true. For some of us experienced owners who know better: 1) I will never buy an RV again. (they are junk) 2) I would have gladly paid more for a better quality RV if I had known better. (and it doesn't have to be a $100K Airstream either)Re: 2017 ford F150I tow a 8,250 lb trailer with a suburban 8.1l vortec rated for 12,000 pounds. I hate it. Having it over, I would never tow a heavy TT with anything but diesel power. Night and day.Re: Moving up from F 150 to F 350 6.7 diesel kicker wrote: I previously owned a 2010 F150 with 5.4 and tow package. I own 2009 Starcraft 2700BH with had a hitch weight of 850 and when loaded weighed around 6500#. I used a propride weight distribution set up. The truck pulled the camper fine but you knew you had a camper hooked up. I traded that truck in at 125000 miles for a 2016 F350 6.7 diesel. Let me just say, that if you can afford the 10,000 upcharge for the diesel option do it. I have all the pwr you would ever want and then some. No more messing around with weight distribution etc. Can comfortly cruise at 65 all day long. I have put 2500 miles on while pulling the camper and have been avg 10mpg towing. Not sure this is good but the 150 avg like 8mpg. This truck is also My daily driver and while not towing I get 19 to 20 Hwy and 13 city. My set up is F350 6.7 diesel 3.55 gears and 18inch tires. Only draw back is a 26 gallon fuel tank but there are tons of options to add an external tank. If you are the fence and can afford a super duty by all means buy it. You wont regret it. Mike My envy is about to make my head explode. Still pulling with my vortec 8.1L gasser. All those who pull these heavy TTs with gas engines need to have their heads examined. (myself included). One day I'll have a duramax. One day.........
