I purchased an extended warranty on a new pick up years back only to have them declare bankruptcy a couple years later. Then after some research found that was common. 2 years ago i purchased a new Ford C-Max with an extended warranty. Got home, read the contract and it stated the items the warranty covered and then stated it would not cover any issues not mentioned. I cancelled the policy. I would have kept it if it stated what was not covered and then said it would cover anything else. Read the contract carefully.Re: Down hill gradeI don't use the tow/haul mode going down hills any more. I find that if I am using it and begin going too fast, briefly stepping on the break brings me to the next lower gear at an RPM I don't feel comfortable with. If the hill is 6 degrees for a couple miles I manually slow way down at the apex and gear down manually. Then if I feel the speed increasing too much, I tap on the brake to slow the vehicle down.Re: The best Wranglers for towing? As mentioned above, the Ford C-Max is a good option as it is a hybrid. We bought ours in 2017 and love it, getting 47-50 MPG. I do not believe Ford is making them anymore, so you would have to settle for a used one. They come in a plug in model also.Black Tank--Borax?I read on a forum somewhere that adding borax to the black tank would help clean it. Has anyone here heard of such a recommendation?Re: getting a tow vehicleYou might want to consider a Ford C-Max. This is a small Crossover, but I find mostly ideal. They come in either a Hybrid or a plug in hybrid. Unfortunately, Ford stopped making them in 2019. I purchased one in 2018 because it can be towed 4-down, is an automatic and is a hybrid. The only downside I see for you is the limited cargo space.Re: Invisibrake for CRVor you could call Roadmaster at (800) 669-9690 . they have great support.Re: Battery disconnect on '16 Silverado 1500 4wdCA Traveler is correct. I once towed a Ford Focus with the same requirements. Roadmaster installed a solenoid which allowed me to push a button to disconnect the battery, That made it really easy.Re: Battery disconnect on '16 Silverado 1500 4wdCA Traveler is correct. This would certainly make me pause before choosing a Ranger as a toad.
