People discussing irrelevant stuff like will two fit in the shower and what color is the dinette. Last time I watched, the guy was upset because the fridge was stainless and the stove wasn't. Seldom if ever do they mention anything that an actual RV buyer would be concerned with, like tank sizes, weights, and whether the behemoth (because they all are) will fit anywhere but a high end RV resort. Or how accessible the bathroom and refrigerator are with the slides in or the dump valves with the slides out... How about the guys that always have to climb inside the storage compartment!Re: Cordless drill for scissor jacksI use this one. It's light weight, charges fast and holds a charge a lot longer than my other cordless drill. I learned that this past spring when we found it laying in the tub!Re: How does the sway control work in an Equal-i-zer hitch?Something doesn't look right with your installation. The L-brackets should fit flush against the link plates. The nuts on the link plates should be on the inside. The two 1/2" x 3-1/2" bolts should fit into the pocket on the outside of the link plate. You might have the outside link plates backwards, I can't tell in your picture. That would cause the heads of the bolts to prevent the L-brackets from fitting flush.Re: diesel fuel nozzleI've used the truck lanes at truck stops and along the PA & OH turnpike and haven't had a problem with the nozzle fitting. It does fill VERY fast, so I only squeeze the handle about 1/2 way and hold it so diesel doesn't shoot all over the place - it only takes once to learn that lesson! Those handles are usually filthy too, so you'll probably want to have a pair of gloves on. Most of the truck stops you need to pay first. Just give a credit card and put more than you will need on it. They only charge what you actually pump. After you fill up, you can go in and get a receipt.Re: Tips for long trip with travel trailer? danimal53 wrote: Question: How does the i-pass (or EZPass or whichever) work when towing a trailer? I know in IL, i-pass automatically catches the trailer on camera and deducts the appropriate amount. What about when using Ipass on the other states' systems? We're prepping for a 1000 mile trip Chicago to Vermont in a few weeks. We traveled from MD to Minneapolis last month using the EZPass. PA, OH, IN, and IL all recognized that we were towing the trailer and charged accordingly. There was a slight discount using the EZPass in a couple of states; PA & OH if I remember right.Re: New trailer - most important upgrades in beginningIf it doesn't come with one, a power tongue jack.Re: Lots of lessons... lots and lots of lessons :)It won't be long before you're the old pro giving tips to the first timers hooking up next to you.
