I think running just the 15kBTU with shore power is unavailable would be workable, so that's a plan.Re: Inverter Generator Update?OK, let me throw a wrench into gears. Been looking at a Jay Flight trailer with one 15kBTU AC unit and second 13.5kBTU AC unit. What kind of generator set-up an I going to need?Re: Inverter Generator Update? Well you'll be surprised when you open the box and find that "Honda" is actually a Yamaha EF2400iS. :W Good deal though, lots of YouTube videos on how to get these gensets running properly. :B Not that easy to fix. I watched all those videos and did the repairs, even replaced the idle mixer/jet with genuine Yamaha parts. No bueno. They I hired a local small engine guy to go over it. He made it better but not for long. Hopefully the Yamaha guy can get it running again.Re: Inverter Generator Update?Thank you all for the great replies, and a really useful discussion. Apparently, one cannot go wrong with the EU Hondas. Regarding my Yamaha EF2400iS, I found a local Yamaha MotorSports shop that said they work on the inverter-gens, so I took it over there Saturday. Told him all the symptoms, and he just nodded and said it's a pretty easy service fix in the carburetor and fuel path. Sounded good anyway, and hopefully he can breath some new life in the 10 year old EF2400iS. If not, I'm definitely going to get a Honda... Cheers! - DanRe: Inverter Generator Update? Will a Honda 2000 start an 11.5k AC unit? I didn't think it would, because when I bought the 2400 Yamaha, that was the selling point. And to its credit, the 2400 did the job fairly well. But I'm done with Yamaha because their carburetors don't idle well, and they have virtually no service for generator products.Inverter Generator Update? This topic has been moved to Tech Issues You can read it here: 29207549Inverter Generator Update? My Yamaha Efi 2400 is 10 years old and I can't seem to get it to idle anymore, even after attempting to service it. So, time for a new QUIET generator. Looking for recommendations for a quiet generator that will start am 11.5kBTU AC unit? I know Honda is very good, but are there any other options nowadays that are a bit more affordable? Thank you for your thoughts. - DanRe: Use a weight distribution hitch or not?I would use the WD hitch.Re: Yamaha EF2400is Surging IdleOP back here again. I FIXED IT!!!!! Went to Babbits and ordered the carburetor idle jet. Put the new jet in, an the dadgum thing is running like new :D Re: Yamaha EF2400is Surging Idle Mont G&J wrote: Here's a link to a repair procedure for your Yamaha that will fix the surging. Guarantied Fix for Surging EF2400is Yamaha. My idle jet was a little different than the one shown, but still had the very tiny orifice on the end that was plugged. Thank you for that. I ready saw that and did all those procedures. Did not help the problem.
