Prices go down the further you get from the beaches and the big cities. Whisper Creek in LaBelle is reasonably priced, has lots of activities & quite a few Canadians - but it's about 40 miles from Ft. Myers.Re: TheftIn 8 years of fulltiming, one pair of cheap sandals left on the entrance to the beach at Fort Pickens CG. Must be a high rate of crime in that area!Re: Looking for Input on the Grand Canyon Train.Enjoyed the train ride, but there's really nothing to see along the way, so skip the dome. 2nd the motion on Canyon De Chelly - I'd put that on your "don't miss" list.Re: FarewellThanks, all. As the old song goes: "So long, it's been good to know ya".FarewellAfter 10 years of RV'ing, 8 years of solo Finally Fulltiming and lots of workamping, I'm now going to be Finally Fully Retired. It was a great experience & I'm glad I did it, but I think it's time to settle down. Have traded the RV for a car, bought a condo near the ocean in sunny Florida and am looking forward to a more leisure lifestyle. Many, many THANKS to all of you on this Forum who have helped me over the years. I've benefitted greatly, especially when first starting out, and have recommended the Forum to dozens of others. Keep up the good work.Re: Sightseeing in a C w/no toadJust completed 8 years fulltiming w/o a car - just a bicycle. Get a back pack for groceries, use buses & taxis when necessary. Otherwise, just drive the RV.Re: Durango, CO or Maggie Valley NC?The Durango-Silverton train ride is the best I've found in the USA. T'were me, I'd go there, hands down.Re: He wants/She wants10 years ago I bought my 1st RV and dealt with the he/she issues for about 9 months. Left the wife & the house and the RV & I hit the road. Haven't been back since. My bumper sticker reads: "My way AND the highway"Re: Ideas for New York state? As 2hams said - WG, Sampson, most any CG in the Finger Lakes area for things to do & places to go. Letchworth for outdoor activities & "real" camping. Definitely bring the car.Re: Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain NYIf you like REAL country music check out: http://www.bluegrassfestivalguide.com/index.html
