"Just how much should they spray? Some of these parks are in the middle of the woods, animals eat the bugs, they don't need chemicals. Stay out of the parks if you are scared of bugs." There are non-toxic chemicals and deterrents. Diatomaceous Earth works well with ticks. I not scared of bugs, but am aware of some that carry disease. I have been camping with my Doberman(s) for over 13 years (one passed to the bridge and the new one is 2 1/2), I usually go to state parks or places that will accept the breed. I always call first. It does fall on the "choice" of the insurance company the campground chooses on what breeds to restrict if they have restrictions. Not so sure about size issues. The only time we ever had an issue is when on a walk around the CG our leashed, well trained Dobie was attacked by an unleashed Chi-mix, my dog listened and went to the down position and stayed when I commanded. The Chi-mix tore my son's pants and tried to bite my dog. The owners only tried to "call back" their dog and had to physically come to the road to pick it up while it fought them! I am totally against Breed Legislation for many reasons. I know not everyone will agree. But you don't see some breeds that should be on the lists. YES you can run off shore power w/o a battery......but you can't run w/o 12V DC power to fridge on electric or propane. The 12V DC powers the control board, panel lights, gas valve etc. On shore power your 'converter' is supplying the 12V DC System. And you really should get a new battery cause IF you tow that trailer anywhere it is Federal Law to have a working battery that will activate/hold power on trailer brakes for 15 mins should trailer become disconnected from tow vehicle and become a 'run away' :S New battery was purchased a few weeks ago, we are good to go. You are confusing Battery with shore power. IT TAKES 12 VOLTS TO OPERATE YOUR REFER. The shore power supplies 120 to your POWER CONVERTER and THAT supplies 12 volts to the refer. You do not have to have a battery connected, but you NEED a battery to help regulate the Power output from the converter.
