The push button is convenient. We had the generator included in the negotiations when we purchased our 5th wheel in 2015. We wanted the onboard generator for many of the reasons others have already stated. We travel with 2 dogs and want to be able to stop and see the sights and still have them in the A/C. Shortly after buying the 5th wheel a storm came through where we were camped, the campground was without power for about 4 hours. It was hot and extremely humid, however, we were able to stay comfortable the entire time with the generator. Everybody’s needs are different, so fortunately there are many options to accommodate them.Re: Where do you carry 'IT'If we take it, in the bed of the truck. New 5th has 100 gallon black tank, so I think we've only had to it once with the new trailer (on an extended stay).Re: Advantages or Disadvantages of half bathWe like the 1/2 bath. Really convenient with guest, whether they are overnight or a for a few hours. We have a single sewer connection, so that is not a issue for us. We often camp for a week or more, the 100 gallon black tank capacity is nice.Re: 2016 PinnacleCongrats! Our experience with our 2005 Jayco Eagle weighed in on our decision to stay with Jayco when we got our 2015 Pinnacle in October. We also added a rear view camera and upgraded the tires to The Goodyear G's. We stayed with the 16" wheels. Again, congratulations!Re: A/C with Heat Pump, worth it?Our 5th wheel came with the heat pump. Yes, we like it, it perform well on the occasions we've used it. We also have the fireplace, it helps take the chill off and keep the place comfortable. Yes, I would probably get the heat pump should I need to replace the A/C unit. We can and do camp year round. However, we do not have it as cold as some of you either. I like not having to refill the propane tanks as often since we can use the heat pump and fireplace.Re: Contemplating jayco pinnacleWe took delivery of our 2015 Pinnacle 36 FBTS on October 8th. We've been pleased with the quality, fit and finish. So far no issues of note. Most things have been related to us learning new stuff. We previously had a 2005 Jayco Eagle, our good experience with that Jayco influenced our decision a lot. We bought a unit off the lot, upgraded the tires to Goodyear G614's, added a generator and rear view camera system. We have spent 18 nights in it so far.Re: PK charcoal smoker/grill/ovenI bought a PK Kitchen in June. Great grill/smoker! Based on it's size and the fact you take the cast aluminum grill off the stand, it is easy to load and take camping. I've always been a charcoal guy. Based on the design of the PK, you use less charcoal. I highly recommend the PK. After I bought mine, a friend purchased one. His dad had one back in the 50's. My friends brother has that one now.Re: need feedback on Jayco trailersWe've had our 2005 Jayco Eagle 298BHS for 10 years. Very few problems (most operator error). We searched for a long time before making the decision to buy it. Considering a 5th wheel and Jayco is at the top of our list, based on the experience we've had. However, if you read the forums and owners groups, all brands appear to have some degree of problem or quality control issues. Try to find a good dealer and do a good PDI.Re: How to stop slide topper from sagging?Usually, I just bring the slide in to drain the water. But, I have also cut a water noodle just a little longer than the width if the awning, putting a piece under both ends of the awning. The upward bow of the noodles under the awning provide enough lift to cause the water to run off.Re: How to stop slide topper from sagging?Usually, I just bring the slide in to drain the water.
