We have cell service and the Mi-Fi internet with them. Not cheap. If you don't need speed they have "unlimited" plan but beware and read the fine print. They throttle the speed after a certain amount of usage. I switched to their "unlimited" and switched back to the plan I had before with no penalty. I'd rather pay more for the speed.Re: Newbie researching Class A.We full time in a 33' Class A DP. Agree that it's the floor plan not the length. Must haves: slide outs, walk around queen size bed, enough storage space. The reason we purchased a shorter DP is that we can fit into more state, national and corps of engineers campgrounds.Re: Any rv techs on these boards?not a technician but I recalled seeing this info on the RVIA-RVDA website. http://www.rvtechnician.com/Public/ContentAreas/3toolsforpreparation.aspxRe: Am I doing this wrong ?Some tips: 1. Use www.woodalls.com to search and filter for RV sites. 2. Use www.recreation.gov to search for Corps of Engineers campgrounds in Michigan. You can input your rig length to filter site sizes. The results will list the site size and whether it has electric. They are usually more a bit more developed. Try to select a site and see if there is a photo of the actual site. 3. Use www.reserveamerica.com and search for RV sites with 30A electric, select the park, select a site and look at the photo. 4. Look at www.rvparkreviews.com and read reviews from people staying in Class A's. 5. Learn to boondock and use your generator rather than depending on electric hookup. Just make sure your fuel tank is full.Re: Places to Stay near San Antonio, TXCastroville Regional Park might work. About 30 minutes from San Antonio. Castroville Regional Park 816 Alsace Street, on the Medina River For Park Reservations or More Information call (830) 931-4070Re: Dale HollowCheck Deep Valley Campground in Allons TN. Found them on Woodalls and they get pretty good reviews. Don't see their rates tho.Re: Military CampgroundsYou can make an appointment for ID cars online at: https://rapids-appointments.dmdc.osd.mil/appointment/default.aspxRe: Military CampgroundsYou both can get Department of Defense/Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Cards at base security. DD Form 2765. The 100% DAV is the sponsor for the spouse. The DAV will obtain the card first. You must provide DD214, social security card, proof of eligibility (letter stating 100% P&T). The spouse must provide marriage certificate, social security card and 2 forms of ID. The DAV must go with the spouse to sign the form.Re: BILOXI MS.PARKING AT CASINOSMost of the RV Parks in Biloxi are so-so. You can read all the reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com. Of those in Biloxi we prefer Majestic Oaks but the sites are very close together and despite the name there is no shade. It's the most convenient. There is RV parking across the street from Harrah's but no hookups and I'm sure they will limit how many nights you can stay: I found this on their site: "Harrah's Gulf Coast provides ample free covered parking for all of our guests. Both the casino and hotel multi-story parking garages are easily accessed from Highway 90, as is our valet area. A separate area adjacent to our hotel is reserved for larger vehicles such as buses and RV’s. We ask our guests with large vehicles to call ahead to the Security Department for entrance to that area. They can be reached at 1-800-946-2946, extension 62864. Please note, however, there are no hook-up connections for RV’s." We prefer Hollywood Casino RV Park in Bay St Louis, or Silver Slipper Casino RV Park in Waveland. About 20 minute drive into Biloxi but we don't mind. We play at the Silver Slipper too. Don't miss Island View Casino in Gulfport. Best comps, free slots, etc. There is one RV park near Island View on Hwy 90, across from the beach but it's just a gravel lot with hookups, no shade, no landscaping but who needs it with the beach across the street? It's called Gulf Haven Campground.Re: Where to find good prices on 22.5 TiresCheck B F Goodrich. We bought ST230's load range H at the recommendation of a tire guy in TX that put tires on Prevost coaches. Owned by Michelin but cheaper prices. They are made in the USA. We were happy with them. They are not the cheapest but wear well and ride OK. We splurged this time and bought Michelins thru the FMCA program and they do ride better but worth the price?? DH thinks so. Me, not so much.
