(revision 2)Also made a deposit on a 2021 NL 10-2 LE, dry bath with greystokes interior wood, U-shaped dinette , dually brackets and boat rack. Expect it in May. Also in the hunt for a new truck. Looking at getting a Chevy 3500 WT Dmax DRW double cab long box.Re: Timbrens vs StableloadsTimbrens should not be in contact when there is no load. I have Timbrens and KYB Monomax shocks on the rear. I went to the Timbrens about 8 years ago and would use them again. The only time the Timbrens jar the truck when unloaded is when you hit a speed bump too fast.Re: Front hitch to carry motorcycleHave carried a XT225, TW200, WR250r and a DT200 on my front motorcycle hitch for year from home down to Utah and also up through the Yukon and Alaska. I drilled another hole in the hitch to get it as close to the truck as possible and drilled and tapped the receiver so that I could stop all movement in the hitch. Also added lights to the carrier.Re: Happijac HelpBe careful, one of my 4500 failed. The nut the worm screw runs through rusted out. When you pulled them apart was there rust on the worm screw? If so the main nut is rusting and could be binding.Re: Traveling through BC wildfire areaFor a slightly longer trip if HWY 97 is closed you can do Hwy 16 south from Prince George and then join up with Hwy 5 to Kamloops and back to the coast. That is what we ended up doing a little over a week ago as Hwy 97 was only open to evacuees. We almost got stuck in Prince Rupert as there was a mud slide on Hwy 16. It delayed us for a few hours.Re: What did you do to your truck today?Replaced the upper control arms on both sides, now I need to get a front end alignment. Strongly recommend you have an air hammer if you do this yourself. I broke two of the cam adjuster bolts. The truck is 11 years old and the bolts were very corroded.Re: Timbren questionAnother fan of Timbrens and I do not notice any harsh ride when unloaded.Re: Shocks which do you have and why?Another vote for KYB monomax. I have had them on for a few years along with the Timbrens. Still working great.Re: Tire Chains QuestionI hope you have winter tires to start with. I know some areas are fine with M/S tires, but a true winter tire has way more traction. Chains are cheap insurance. I've used my v-bar chains a couple of times.Re: Triple A versus Good SamBCAA is the British Columbia Automobile Association which is a member of CAA (Canadian Automobile Association ) which is a member of AAA.
