Would think it has to do with the type of refrigerant in use, as with butane that won't vaporize at low temps. No pressure no flow.

Surges are the most destructive, MOV's will protect for this and is the most used in devices now. Simple to install in the power panel. Low voltage another problem.

Nah, Never/Never use 3 in 1 veggie oil on any motor, most recommend 20 weight.
