When I was doing my walk through and being shown the hitch setup, it was binding up between the tow and maneuver positions. It took the tech about 30 minutes to free it up. When I hooked up to the trailer and used the trailer breaks to slide between the two positions, I was actually sliding the 5th wheel which was about 9k dry....When I got home and pulled on the lever to release the jaws, I heard a snap inside the mechanism. The handle was extremely loose and rotated 180 degrees. When I got the 5th wheel off the truck and tried to slide the slider back to the tow position, it bound up again between the two positions and wouldn't budge. I took a trip down to my dealer and told them to get my paper weight out of my truck, when doing so the handle to release the jaws fell off. REESE is junk and I will never own another REESE product again.Re: FW Hitch height?I just got the B&W 18k Patriot slider in my 2013 Silverado 2500 D/A 4x4. I have a 2016 Wildcat and have the hitch set at the lowest setting, 16 inches. I have about 8 inches between bed rail and bottom of fifth wheel. It sits pretty level but I may end up adjusting the pin box up a bit...Re: Pullrite Super Glide? or Reese manual? One thing to mention about the Superglide hitch is that if your truck is turned more than 10-15 degrees from the trailer, you will not be able to unhook the 5th wheel. The slider and pin box become one part, hence allowing it to slide back. If you are ever unhooking where you can't be pretty much straight with the trailer, forget it. That was the leading factor to me getting a B&W Patriot 18K manual slider. Hitch is extremely tight and has a full 12 inches of slide. From what I've read, B&W make some of the best hitches. My dealer gave me a Reese 16k manual slider as a package deal with my 5th wheel, took it back the next day in multiple pieces. I will never own another REESE product again. Piece of $#*!.Re: Your RigLong time lurker but finally a member. Just made the switch from a travel trailer to 5th wheel. Had a 2012 Eclipse Evolution TT that was nothing but problems from day 1 and the dealer and manufacture did nothing to make us happy. Wife and I went to go look at 5th wheels at our local Camping World and walked away with this thing. This is from when we picked it up last week. Looking forward to our maiden voyage in December. 2016 Wildcat Maxx 282RK:
