Also, I wish it was larger...Re: 5th wheel verses travel trailerI realize your question involves weight, however the difference in towing is significant in my experience. However, we like to go on long trips, and we're on the interstates a lot. I prefer towing a fifth wheel, and I've towed both TT, and fiver cross country. In regards to weight, that's more of a question of what type of tow vehicle you'll be using. I now have a one ton dually, and we love it.Re: A good problem! 5 people, 5 nights, in a 5erI had to use a tank with just 2 kids, it's a good investment. Also, we love Hunting Island, it's a great family campground.Re: Info on 5th wheel brandWe've considered them as well, we even toured the factory. I agree they have a lot of nice features, but not much CCC. Also, I was not impressed with their facility at all, but I've been in manufacturing engineering for 30 years.Re: We are gonna go camping! And how exactly do you get sick by simply going outside? That's right, you don't! Have fun!Re: Florida State Parks CLOSEDI can't believe they close state parks. How much congregating goes on there? I know the answer, not much. Simply ridiculous.Re: Chevy 1500HD vs. 2500We had a 2001 1500HD, and it performed very well. At the time we towed a 30ft Jayco fifth wheel that weighed 7k pounds. We went all over the US without issue, it is a good truck. Now we have a 40ft fifth wheel, and a 3500HD dually.Re: Looking into a 2017 Grand DesignWe have a 2015 303RLS, and we are quite happy with the unit. We've towed over 26k miles, and have only experienced minor issues. Like the others have said, it appears the newer units are not as solid as ours. However, they dominate the campgrounds I visit.Re: Recommendations for 30 -32 ft 5th wheelWe've had a good experience with our Grand Design Reflection 303RLS. We've owned it for 5 years, towed for over 26k, and have only had minor issues.Re: single or duallyLove the dually, just remember the fenders do not stick out any further than your mirrors.
