It looked like an easy fix, but you definitly have to know how to get to it.Re: Quarantine???The world is a tiny place with todays technology and transportation, which makes Texas an even tinier place. If a plague goes from Liberia to Texas in 1 day do you actually think staying out of Texas is going to save you?Re: Golf Car(t)sWe have a street legal Star LSV. Licensed, insured and inspected. The only way I would buy one. My research at the time found that a golf cart can't go faster than 20 mph, an LSV (low speed vehicle)must do 20-25 mph and are then classified under federal law as a passenger vehicle. The standard requires low-speed vehicles to be equipped with headlamps, stop lamps, turn signal lamps, taillamps, reflex reflectors, parking brakes, rearview mirrors, windshields, seat belts, and 17 digit vehicle identification numbers. A serial number is not a vin #. Even so, often we have problems because even though ours meets all requirements, it "looks like a golf cart". "We do not allow golf carts, sir!". That's why I have a letter from the Corp of Engineers and the Texas Parks and Wildlife that allows me to drive on their property. Some states also have laws concerning NEV's (neighborhood electric vehicles), which are basically just souped up LSV's.Re: San Antonio east or south toward FloridaNo quick way. Every few years, we will drive the Texas Coast from Mustang Island to Bolivar Peninsula or enter Louisiana at Sabine Pass and take the southern route through Cameron and Morgan City to New Orleans and we have done similar on the Mississippi, Alabama and Florida coasts, but it is definitely slow and in areas, you just trade one type of traffic for another. But, if you have the time and want to take the tour, jump in and do it. You will probably be glad you did.Re: Progressive InsuranceYou do realize that the correct forum for insurance complaints is the State Board of Insurance. They can actually help you, as should your insurance agent. If they don't, I can assure you there are lawyers that will happily help you with a "bad faith" claim. A lot of state laws allow treble damages, etc. So, it basically boils down to the fact that if a door costs $2000 and you have replacement cost coverage, they owe you $2000. If you have not pursued it further, that is your fault, not Progressive or some dead guy.Re: Camping world thiefReal simple, folks. It's called "Care, Custody and Control". That basically means they are responsible, no matter what kind of written or implied disclaimer they try to hide behind. You would not leave an item if you knew it was going to be damaged or stolen. They would not have any customers if everyone knew their items would be damaged or stolen. So, by the very fact that they allowed you to leave your property, they implied a reasonable level of security. If they could not provide adequate security, they should have told you not to leave your property or provided a higher level of security. Yes, they do have responsibility for your property!Re: Diatomaceous Earth? If you get a true flea infestation, DE is a great way to put a quick end to it. We had serious problems once and lightly dusted the carpets, then swept it in with a broom, left for the weekend, came back and vacuumed and haven't seen a flea in 5-6 years. A couple of cups will easily do a large house. Oddly enough, they say they don't work on fire ants.Re: Hwy 10 in LouisianaThere are some places that are pretty rough, but nothing like 5-10 years ago. We have been from Mandeville to Texas about 5-6 times in the last year and I sure don't gripe like I used to.Re: Pork Loincut in 3/4 in pieces, soak overnight in zesty Italian dressing and cook on grill.Re: Towing my 2010 EquinoxThe lights are permanently installed into the tail-light housing, then wired directly wired to a receptacle at the front of the car, then another cable connects it to the trailer receptacle on the motorhome. They are totally independent from the car. I plug the car into the MH just like it was a trailer.
