The maximum tow weight is 2,000# and max tongue weight is 220#. The lightest RPod made weighs 2,714 dry and most likely has a tongue weight of over 300#. Tesla 3s can tow teardrop trailers and that is about all. Maybe overloading his vehicle caused him to have greatly reduced range creating the need for a roadside charge. I wonder where he hauled the generators and gas can. Isn't that a Model X? The Model 3 has a plain painted rear bumper, the Model X has a grey panel at the bottom of the bumper which seems to match this car. Also, on the model 3, the rear door seam runs diagonally toward the front of the car, on the model X it's near vertical. The Model X has a 5000 lb towing capacity.Re: Traveling with Propane on BB_TX wrote: Theoretically there is a very slight chance that while filling up your and your RV was sitting next to a gas pump and the refrigerator vent panel was very near that gas pump hose as it was pumping gas and the wind was exactly right to lift the heavier than air gas fumes up and blow those into the refrigerator vent and the refrigerator was currently cooling and the fumes reached the burner, then yes, a fire is possible. And it's not just your own pump you need to worry about, the guy on the other side of your RV might have tipped over the 5 gallon can he's filling, causing a pool of gasoline under your RV. I saw that happen once, fortunately, he was on the other side of the pump island so the pool of gas didn't reach me, as soon as I saw it happen, I stopped pumping, pressed the call button on the pump to tell the store clerk, and moved my RV away from the island.Re: Fireworks dcason wrote: Something that has been very helpful to daughters dog is Homeopathic remedy, Phosphorus 30c. She tried cbd and thundershirt and NOPE. However if she doses Phosphorus 30c before the thunder starts (watch the weather!), then there is not the panting and hiding but a relaxed dog. Try it...cheap! It should be cheap since it likely contains not even a single molecule of the active ingredient. A 30C dilution means a 1:100 dilution run 30 times, so the end product is a 1 in 10^60 dilution. That's 1 followed by 60 zeros. Or, another way to put it: on average, this would require giving two billion doses per second to six billion people for 4 billion years to deliver a single molecule of the original material to any patient. Re: Empty parks with no open sites. Tvov wrote: One way to help this would be to make reservations 100% prepay in advance, and cancellations require a 2 week notice - or you lose your prepayment. There have been so many times where I read about people using "the system" to reserve and cancel at popular places in order to get what they want. Fort Wilderness is a prime example of this - or at least was 10 years ago, the last time we were there. I don't see how that would help. Especially at state parks where the site is so cheap that you can book sites on days you "might" want to go, and if you don't go, it's not that much money and you don't even bother to cancel, since you won't get a refund. A better policy would be to allow refunds up to the day of arrival with, say a 50% penalty (if there's no penalty, people would just book every weekend until they decide when they want to go), at least that way there's incentive to cancel. They could even charge a no-show fee. You get 50% back if you cancel before arrival, but pay a $100 fee if you no-show without cancelling. But this all assumes that the goal is to maximize the number of people that can enjoy the park -- in reality, parks don't care about non-refundable no-shows since they get paid without doing any work.Re: FireworksI doubt enough people will be priced out of fireworks to make a difference. They are illegal in my county, but that doesn't keep people from setting them off. Our dog is scared too, he feels safer in the garage, so when there are fireworks and he heads to the garage, we let him in the garaged RV and let him sleep in his crate in the corner while we watch TV with the volume turned up loud to help mask the fireworks.Re: RV retail sales drop 31% April year over year. RetiredRealtorRick wrote: Of course, the article was referring to Thor. Odd, however, that when I do a nationwide search on RVTrader, I find OVER 5,500 brand new, unsold, Thor products sitting on the ground on dealer's lots, or imminently inbound -- and that's just the Thor brand, not factoring-in any of the other companies owned by Thor. I just find it interesting. Are you sure those are really unsold and available? When I was RV shopping a few months back, a lot of times I'd see an add for an RV on the lot or "arriving soon" only to be told by the dealer, oh that one's already reserved. We can add you to the wait list for it in case the deal falls through."Re: RV retail sales drop 31% April year over year. I don't see a battery powered HDT or motor home in the near future. They're coming, but slowly. Winnebago showed a Ford eTransit based EV: https://fordauthority.com/2022/01/winnebago-e-rv-concept-debuts-as-ford-e-transit-camper-alternative/ But it's still a concept vehicle, not for sale. The 120 mile range is limiting for many people, but for those that like to go on weekend trips near home, it'd work fine. It would cover around 80% of my RV trips. They announced a Class-A concept with the same range. The cost (and availability) of the large battery needed for long range is the biggest limiting factor, eventually that will be solved, along with charge time. Tesla claims 300-500 miles of range for the Tesla Semi along with 30 minutes of charge time to add 400 miles of range at a Tesla "Megacharger".Re: How do you in the S/E handle high humidity inside your rig? D.E.Bishop wrote: Our nephew lives in Jacksonville on a side canal off the intercoastal waterway and he is having problems with mold and moisture damage in his small class A. It is so bad he is moving it to their second home in Colorado. He has been running the AC 24/7 in his rig. Granular absorbent is usually the first thing I'd suggest along with adequate air flow but that hasn't seemed to work. What practices do you follow. Does he have power to it? In the rainy pacific northwest, when my RV is not in use I always run a dehumidifier in it. I set it on the counter near the sink and let it drain into the sink so I never need to empty it.Re: Wipes!!!We never let anyone else use our RV toilet, but still have a prominent "Flush Toilet Paper only - no wipes!" sign over the toilet, just in case. Hopefully no one takes it too literally and thinks that bodily waste shouldn't be flushed.Re: Nearly impossible to get Class C Chassis serviced?I found a small independent shop that was willing to put it on ramps in their parking area to do the work. But it was pretty minor work, they didn't have to drop the tank. "Unfortunately they won't work on RVs older than 15 years" I can understand why they do that -- it's hard to say what they're going to find when they start working, they may tell you that it's going to be $300 to drop the tank and fix the line, then they find out that the tank straps are rusted, so they have to cut them off and replace them, that's another $300, then they find the leak in the fitting that goes into the tank, but it's rusted in place too, and they risk ruining the tank, which would be another $500 to replace (assuming they can even find one). So now your $300 repair is over $1000, and they have to tow your RV out of their garage while they wait for parts. Someone with a 20+ year old RV may not want to pay that much, meanwhile they've left their bay occupied for a day while they work on it, which means a commercial truck (who *will* pay for a $1000 repair to get his truck back on the road) is waiting
