He has read some reviews that mentioned the shorter wheelbase and the IRS suspension caused handling problems. He is looking at trailers with a dry weight of around 2,700-2,800 lbs. Does anyone tow with a Highlander that could provide some insight ? ThanksRe: Slide out topper replacementThe bedroom slide was right at three turns while the LR slide was a bit more than 2. LR slide extends 6" more. A & E probably used the same width material. I also had to relocate the anti billowing device(s).Re: Slide out topper replacementThe video by RV Geeks and the instructions that came with the fabric both showed this method. Open slide, unroll fabric from roller tube (about 3 turns) and pin in place. Remove screws from RV channel and slide old fabric out. Install in reverse order. It took about 20 minutes/slide.Slide out topper replacementOur two 82" slide out awnings were really showing their age. I ordered new sets from Tough Top Awnings (great service) and, yesterday, the DW and I set about to install them. Following the directions supplied with the material, the job went really well. It also gave me a chance to thoroughly clean the seals and slide out roof. The most difficult part was unwinding the roller tubes against the torsion springs and pinning them in place...the springs were really strong. Feels good to finally get that job done.Re: Leveling?I have been using a torpedo level for years. I always level the stove top using the "Lego" blocks as needed.Annoying neighborWhile camping at the Flag ranch RV park in South Yellowstone, a neighbor in a big fifth wheel started his gas powered leaf blower to clean his outdoor carpet. I couldn't figure out what that awful noise was at first until I saw him using it. He would do this two to three times a day. Several other campers were complaining and some of us went to the registration booth to complain. They went by three times to tell him to stop using it...which he finally did. I couldn't believe how he didn't think it was annoying to hear that god-awful noise from early in the am to night.Re: 2005 ford f450 6.0 sunseeker class cIn regards to the switch, it may be the battery disconnect switch for the house batteries. Our switch(s) are laid out similar to yours.Re: gas mileage with a v10We have had our Minnie 29B with two slides for 6 years and have averaged between 8-9 mpg. we tow a Suzuki Sidekick.Re: 12 Volt system problemThe worst case of poor routing I have ever seen was in a TT parked next to us a few years ago. The manufacturer had installed a generator in an outside bay and the fuel tank in the adjacent bay. The "rubber" fuel line was routed through a hole cut into the metal divider panel (without a grommet). The vibration from the generator caused the fuel line to rupture and gas flowed into the inside of the TT. The owners had to have it towed back to the dealer as they could no longer stay inside. It was only 1-1/2 years old.Re: maiden voyage of tiogaBeen there, done that. V10 in a 30' Minnie. I hated watching the scan gauge sitting on 3.9 mpg.
