Question for someone who knows more about the topic. My commercial fridge compressor on my new fridge draws more at startup then my old one causing a bigger rev up for a second. Not a big deal but I was wondering if a larger start up cap would make starting easier on the gennys? Anyone have any thoughts? It's a 6 amp fridge, I haven't checked to see what the startup amp draw is, not sure how. Thoughts on the topic are appreciated Jay 3 2000 champs 1 3100 champRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadHey all, Make sure you are all cleaning the spark arrestor. I foolishly have only been cleaning the outer disc, not realizing that there is a screen on the inside that pulls out. Both of mine were completely clogged. I threw them away because the build up was too much to remove. Needless to say, they run so much better now. I ran them heavy and hard for 3 years like this. On another note, I'm going to install a hi-temp cut off on my 3100. Has anyone done this? I'm thinking a snap disc cut-off set to maybe 150 degrees . Just don't know if the low oil sensor is normally open or closed. Looking for advise, otherwise I'll just tear it open and check. JayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadSpoke too soon, They were acting terrible today, stalling, overloading, power dropping out and coming back. When I got home, it wasn't the air filter this time. I don't know what it was. But, when I went to take a look at the spark plugs, one of the boots broke, the part that grabs the electrode broke off and stuck to the plug, now, I'm up a creek till I can get a replacement. Plug looked dry and carbon-y. Guess ill be calling champion on mon morn, too bad I've got to loose a little business till I can fix it. Also, another note, a few of the chassis screws had wiggled them selves right out, just a maintenance tip, tighten all screws every few months.Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadYes, it's been going great and these generators are on their 3rd year of Fairly heavy use 3-6 hours a day maybe 5 days a week sometimes more Trouble free for the most part, aside from this issue. I wish there was an external tank option, refueling is a real pain the way I have them enclosed. They are starting to hunt at certain wattages anyone solved the hunting? When these finally die, I have no problem buying another set. Perfect for the food truck. JayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadThanks, you know, sometimes you overlook the simple things Mine are mounted in a food truck, makes sense that if I forget to Turn off fuel it'll leak over turns and bumps back into filter. Lets see if that solves it!Re: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadQuick question while on the road trying to trouble shoot. Every few days I have to dry out my air filter because one unit will not start. Has anyone encountered this? The filter seems full of fuel, Stopping air flow. Looking for reason this would happen! JayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Threadhey, haven't built an enclosure for mine yet, wondering if anyone here has? i use mine on a food truck and would like to build a permanent enclosure for them. i'm trying to do so as cheaply as possible while making them weather proof and a little quieter. has anyone overheated theirs yet? mine over heated once last year in an open field, i didn't realize that they were in direct sun. so, obviously the tolerance to heat is a big factor in the enclosure i would need to install some fans. just wondering if anyone built anything for their campers and had some thoughts. JayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Threadhey guys, anyone else notice a high pitch cyclic whine from their units? i no have 3 2000i units and the one has the idle burp and a high pitch whine. also, whats the best way to fix the burping? i was planning on just adjusting the throttle screw, i noticed that holding the throttle open just the slightest bit more fixes it but, wanted to se if there was another way. thanks guys, i still have nothing but great things to say about these! jayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator Threadhey guys, my twins are still running strong, they get about 20 hours per month. wondering if everyone has been fine with the stock spark plug or if anyone has felt the need to swap it out with a different one. also, i was going to check the valve clearances, but not really sure how involved it is on the champ. anyone done theirs and have some advise about easiest access? thanks guys. JayRe: The Official unofficial CPE 2000i Generator ThreadHey guys, Still running the inverters on the coffee truck without any problems but, looking for some suggestions for more power... I'd really like to get 5000 running watts at roughly the same Dba as the two inverters running at full throttle. Does anyone have any side by side comparisons experience that could offer opinions? Does champion make a synchronous 5000 watt that compares? Jay
