Boondocking near Yellowstone and Grand Teton
Hello. We are visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton in a few days September 18, 2023. We were told there were many places mostly with the National Park Service where you can pull in for free camping. We havd a small 21 ft Travel Trailer. We do not need hook ups. Just wanted to try boondocking and enjoying nature. Any help would be appreciated. Larry

Hello all, I am brand new to motorhomes and boon-docking. I am looking to hopefully follow or join someone or group that are experienced boon-dockers in the northwest Oregon and southwest Washington areas. I have lived my whole life in major cities obeying laws, following rules so I have some trepidation about camping in the complete wilderness. And so far, I have only taken my 32 foot Winnebago to official (legitimate) camping spots. But I want to try Boon Docking… I just need a “primer”, someone with experience to get me going. Not even sure if “Boondockers” have groups or if what I am hoping to find is contrary to the idea of Boon Docking. Anyway, I just thought I would post this to find out. This would be for the Pacific Northwest, Portland, Oregon area, northern Oregon and southern Washington. And I would be willing to pitch in for fuel and/or food in exchange for this guidance. We're boondocking about 4 miles north of Williams, AZ on a Kaibab NF dispersed camping site. We can see 23 other RVs from our location and I'm sure there are at least that many more that we can't see. I know we passed over a dozen on our way to our site that we can no longer see. The high temp here today (6850' elevation) was a balmy 75° while it is over 100° down in the "Valley of the Sun" (Phoenix). Life is good.
Belle Fourche River Campground - Devils Tower Wyoming
Tomorrow our family heads out on a week-long trip, and one of the stops will be at Belle Fourche River Campground which is part of Devils Tower National Monument. There are 46 sites, all first-come first-served, but I recently learned that Loop B is temporarily closed which takes out 30 of the sites. That leaves 16 first-come first-served sites. I'm curious if anyone has any experience during this closure as to when those 16 sites typically fill up during a weekday. (We'll arrive on Wednesday of this week, June 21.) I have a feeling I'll have to prep the family for an early morning start from the previous night's campground... :-|Stolle Meadows, Warm Lake Rd, Cascade, Idaho
This is a long shot question - has anyone here been up to Stolle Meadows within the last week following the heavy thunderstorms that went through the valley? This is a good area for boondocking, but I'm wondering about the condition of the road, especially past the Stolle Meadows cabin. I called the Cascade Ranger district and they have had no reports of the road being under water or washed out, at least to the cabin, but they can't advise beyond that. Any information helps. Thanks.
California Winter Boondocking Available
Long story short, I own off grid land, 2.5 acres, in California located just off Highway 58, near Edwards AFB. we'll be boondocking here this winter. If you are looking to boondock the winter also in California your welcome to park here - free of charge. Requirements: Newer model RV, retired couple, and leave no trace.
