The trailer tests fine on its own at multiple shops. Brakes were adjusted by multiple shops. The trucks brake controller shows no issue, shows trailer connected etc. When using the manual lever, it shows expected voltage and amps. When driving slow and using the manual lever, no brake action is felt at all. However, I do notice some difference if I test with the truck wiring disconnected from trailer when stopping. So brakes are working to an extent, just very slight. Question is if it is possible the P3 brake controller is not supplying enough volts/amps despite showing it is on its display. Brake Controller load testing? Purchased 5th wheel new several years ago and I believe I've never had much braking since. At the time, I installed a new P3 controller in my truck. Controller shows everything working normal. Have tried increasing voltage, boost etc. Pushing manual lever while moving has no notiable effect, can't feel any braking from trailer. Have had multiple shops look at trailer and all say no problem. Last shop adjusted trailer brakes, tested magnets, wiring etc. Is it possible the P3 controller is faulty even though it's display shows everything working? Affordable RV park not to far from San Diego? Looking for a place to vacation not too far from SD a couple trips thru the summer. KOA and Sun Outdoors Chula Vista are absurdly high priced and mostly booked anyways. Not too impressed with Campland or Mission Bay RV parks. Have stayed many times in Escondido. It's nice but wrong direction for some of our plans. Anything nice out towards El Cajon such as Sunland Oak Creek RV? Re: Water Softeners? bgum wrote: That price is about what you would pay on Amazon. Amazon is a bit higher priced but went ahead and ordered it there. Camping Worlds return policy is poor if the item is found to be defective. Have to contact manufacture and pay shipping.Water Softeners?Any recommendations for a RV portable water softener? Have one at home and wife loves it for showers/hair and wants one to use when we're out in our fifth wheel. Campingworld has the On The Go 16,000 grain softener on sale for $250. Good deal or is there something better?Re: List Of RV Parks With Awesome Wi-Fi?Never once had decent wifi. Problem is 50-100 people all start streaming video and music at the same time and nobody can do much of anything! Found that internet is kinda sorta ok around 3am-4am otherwise unusable at most RV parks I've stayed at!Re: Brakes on new RV weak.Update: Appears to be some sort of problems with the brakes/axles themselves. Winnebago is awaiting word from axle manufacture as to how to fix. Meanwhile I have not used my trailer a single day since buying it. Have a vacation trip planned over labor day weekend and sure hope I don't have to cancel!Re: Covers for storage REAL LIFE EXPERIENCEI store mine in a covered storage lot rather than use an RV cover. Had my Starcraft hybrid for 9 years and just sold it last month. Still looked brand new. Decals in perfect shape, no peeling, fading etc. The trailers stored out in the sun with a cover or not all look faded badly after a few years with decals peeling, color fading etc. I'm in hot AZ where the blazing sun bakes so could be quite different in cooler climates.Re: New 5er. Oh yeah!!All else being equal (same length and floorplan etc.) a 5th is usually an 'upgrade'. Far more outside storage, better towing and more! Of course, I went from a 23' TT Hybrid to a 30' 5th so big upgrade. Congrats on your new rig!! Enjoy!Re: Brakes on new RV weak.Got a call directly from Winnebago. They are actively working to find out what the problem is. Hopefully this will be resolved and I have brakes!
