Good morning everyone. Yesterday we spent the afternoon at the Greenville Hospital MD360 clinic. Sue was not getting any better. When they did the blood work her white blood cell count was back down close to normal. It was high on Saturday when she went in. They gave her another round of IV fluid and an inhaler for her bronchitis and told her to give the antibiotics a chance to work. If she wasn't any better in 48 hours to come back prepared to go to the hospital. Sue's blood sugar has been between 3-4 hundred since she has been sick. Yesterday she took a massive dose of insulin and her blood sugar dropped to 170. This morning she says she feels somewhat better but she isn't ready to run a foot race.
So we will give her today to continue to rest and perhaps by tomorrow she will begin to turn the page on this chapter of her illness. I am still having some drainage from my sinuses and a scratchy throat, but I am doing much better.
The fur gang is doing well. Dixie has been a pain in the butt early in the morning. I thought with the time change she would sleep just like she did, but no! Some how she has figured out its time to get up at seven, which is really six and she whines and cries to get out of the crate. So I get up and let her out along with Suzie who is trying to figure why they are going out in the pitch black dark. Then Dixie starts barking and scratching at the door to come back in. So I lay there as long as I can stand it and then get up and let her in. Then she becomes a wild thing running back and forth in the bedroom chasing Suzie and making enough noise to wake up the dead. So I give in and get up, look at the clock which says it is after seven, but I know that's a lie. So as resentful as a wet hen I make my way to the bathroom to brush my teeth, put on some pants and make my way to the kitchen to feed hungry hound.
Okay that enough of that, so I am going to wish everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
Dan keep and eye on Dan and enjoy Charleston. Patty the picture of the pond with the white bridge is beautiful. Sue and I toured the plantation several years ago. What a great place to visit.
