Good morning everyone. Yesterday we had a plumbing problem under the kitchen sink. The drain pipe that comes out of the garbage disposal to the other side of the sink came loose. It turns out it was cut too short when replacing the garbage disposal a few months back.and it was a matter of time before it came out. Went to the plumbing store bought some pipe for $1.97 and came home to cut it to size and install it. First cutting the pipe so it was not uneven was a job as I didn't have a vice. I had to use a hacksaw because that was all I had. So I took a file and filed down the end so that it would fit flat against the drain and getting it to the right length was a touch of luck. Got under the sink on my side, then my back, then on my side again until I finally got it put back together. I tore the skin on my right arm working in such a tight place but that was all the damage. A plumber friend of mine came by to see how I was doing and found the spray hose was not in the right position to drain as it should when shut off and rerouted that for me. Its good to have friends like that.
Sue is not feeling well again this morning and neither am I. I have congestion that I can't seem t get rid of. I take Robitussin at night and that lets me sleep without coughing and relives the congestion so I can sleep. BY morning the congestion starts to build up and by afternoon I am down again.
Dixie and Suzie are doing well. Izzie is slowing down showing signs of hurting when he walks. He sleeps most of the time and eats well and takes care of his duties at the litter box so I guess we will just watch him and try to keep him as pain free as possible.
The Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue is still going strong. They are making a difference in Burke County even though it seems like it is endless in the amount of stray animals they rescue. The spay neuter program is still on going with many animals going through that program. Its amazing how they keep on with so little help, but the tireless effort of Margie and Barry keeps thing moving.
