Good morning everyone. Old Fella and Izzie are at Rainbow Bridge along with Levi, Mama, Charlie, Hobo, Peaches and some of the rescues that came through our home. What a legacy.
Its hard to believe Izzie is gone after seventeen years. We decided not to cremate Izzie and to bring him home and bury him next to the fence in the back yard, I am going to line the grave with some bricks and put some pea gravel on top of the rave. Underneath the gravel I am going to put some black plastic to cover the ground to keep weeds from growing.
The picture of Old Fella was taken at Modoc the first day we saw him. What a pitiful site he was. After his rescue his change was a miracle. What a great experience Sue and I have been through with all that has happened since we first met Old Fella. All the friends we have made and the forum that was started in 2005 when I asked the question "Should I go back and get him, or let nature take its course?" I am so glad I listened to the folks who cried out for me to go back and get him. Just think what we would be missing if I hadn't gone back to get him.
So many dogs and cats have been saved because of Old Fella and so many lives have been touched by the rescue effort that has taken place. Homes in many places have taken in rescues from the Old Fella Rescue. What a wonderful thing that has happened all because of one old stray dog and the caring folks of the Old Fella thread.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
