Good morning everyone. Yesterday was a beautiful day. Mostly cloudy and in the 70's. This morning it's already 60 degrees with a predicted high in the upper 70's. The fur gang is well and Sue is doing great. Me, well I am on the suspect list as I have had a pain on my lower right side now for several days. Don't know what it is but it is getting worse.
How many remember the song by Melanie "Brand New Key" A girl on American Idol nailed it. One of the judges said he had never heard the song and had never seen a pair of roller skates that used a key, times have changed.
I had a pair that I skated all over Waynesboro with when I was a kid. I wore out the metal wheels, sure had fun with those things.
I sometimes would catch hold of the ice wagon as it made its rounds and let it pull me down the street on my skates. The ice wagon was pulled by a horse and had blocks of ice in it covered by a heavy piece of canvas. The Black man who drove the wagon would stop at houses and take the ice and bring it into the house and put in in the ice box. This was before electric refrigerators. The wagon was painted green and had wooden spoke wheels painted red. The signage on the side of the wagon read "Waynesboro Ice House."
Okay I need to get moving so I will close fro now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
