I read at least every other day and have for years. I got a new computer and it took forever for me to remember my login and password. My password made me sad since it was a dogs name I lost over a year ago. However 14 years is a long time to have a best friend, I still miss him everyday.
We are taking the grand kids to Huntington Beach State Park in a couple of weeks. My chihuahua & I need a beach vacation. I also get the kids all summer taking them on vacation before I put them to work around here. We have horses so there are lots of chores. I read about all your stories with dogs and I have the same issues with my retirement home for my old show horses. Thankfully we only have 4 lifers but they sure make traveling difficult. My son who lives down the road has to take care of them when we travel, payback for watching kids for summer. He likes it when we trail ride & camp less work for him.
Only trip we have had this year in trail riding in Shawnee Nation Forest on Derby Day. I hate to be gone on Derby Day (since I live near Louisville) but since it poured at home and was nice 3 hours West it was a good time.
I truly enjoy reading this thread and sorry I don't contribute more. You can't go wrong with dog people.
