Good morning everyone. Hope all is well. The fur babies are ready for a walk while it is cool. It is 74* outside right now, not bad. Dixie has been running through the house with one of her squeaky toys trying to get someone to play with her. Yesterday Lily came over for a visit while we were out side and she followed us into the house. She wanted to see if anything had changed as she went from room to room and then came back into the kitchen for a treat. After her treat she was ready to go home, funny little dog.
I have so many memories of the different dogs that we have had in our home. I still miss Mama very much. She was really my buddy and wanted to know every minute where I was and what I was doing. I miss Hobo simply because she was our special need little girl. She was certainly different and not the sharpest in the pack. All she wanted was plenty of food, peace and quiet and sometimes a hug. Peaches was so independent and strong willed. She was smart, smarter than most but didn't want a lot of change in her life. She loved attention and would sometimes act out if she thought she wasn't getting her fair share. Old Fella was such a blessing. He knew he had been saved and appreciated his home and his people. It was amazing that he caught on to his new life so easy. Not once did he ever mess up in the house, always came when he was called, that being because he was never that far away from me. I have pictures of him with Sue on the sofa and the look on his face was one of pure contentment. Levi was the love sponge, always wanted someone to have a hand on him, loving him. Levi was very obedient and was a special friend to Old Fella and Izzie. It was Levi that found Izzie in the bushes and brought him home, He was such a small kitty in the beginning, but grew into a twenty three pound cat. Izzie was the one in charge of all the rescues that came through the house. Not once was there an altercation between him and any of the dogs/puppies that we fostered. However, he would not tolerate another cat or kitty in his domain. Then there was Charlie. His stay with us was so brief it seems like a flash in time. He was so sweet and loved to play ball. He found every ball that was ever lost in our back yard. Once when walking with us on Jones Avenue he dove into the bushes and came out with an old baseball. We discovered Charlie had bone cancer, that was a sad day.
Suzie, what can I say about Suzie? What a character she is. It seems as if she has always been with us. She and Anna, her sister were inseparable as puppies. Both are now twelve years old and going strong. Anna is in Ohio with Dan and Lori living the good life.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
