Richard, here is a picture from our campsite at Jetty Park. It is usually not this busy but this was over the 4th of July holiday. You can see the Carnival Cruise ship going out the channel. If you look to the right of this picture, you will see two cabins. There is a path the runs between them out to a gate (pass coded so beach goers can't come in the campground). If you walk out that gate it goes to the beach and as you can see straight ahead is the shipping channel. I like taking one of my bag chairs down to the channel and watch all the boats and ships come by.
Here is a picture of a submarine that came in during our stay. I don't know what it was venting from the top. I walked back down later and there was no smoke.
