Burch, she needs to visit a doctor. She may well have gastritis and needs medication and a diet modification until the stomach inflammation heals. I'm dealing with it myself, and have another month of medication and diet modification to go before I'll know if the inflammation is cleared up. Being that we're on our Alaska trip and I do all the driving, it's been interesting, to say the least.
Until she can get into a doc's office, suggest she stop drinking all carbonated beverages, avoid tomatoes, citrus, caffeine, all fruit juices, and alcohol at the least. Take Gaviscon as needed. If that doesn't help a little, something more serious is going on.
Please don't delay.
