Good morning everyone. Suzie still smells like skunk. Dixie, not so bad. Sue has been able to get rid of it on her. Today we will bath Suzie again in hopes that we can get more off of her. Today I will set the live traps and see if I can capture the skunk and transport it out of our area. A rescue called Wild at Heart is a wildlife rehabilitation organization that is helping with the project. They brought over the live traps yesterday and told me to bait it with scramble eggs and then to call them when I catch one and they will come get it.
Everything else seems to be okay around the house. We got some heavy rain showers just before dark yesterday. So far it has been a wet summer. The temps haven't been that bad lately, not bad outside even during mid day.
Dixie is whining wanting to go for a walk. Little stinker started the whole mess yesterday. She was off leash when she encountered the skunk. She went after it and that is when the skunk came at her. Well Dixie ran back to Sue and that is when they got sprayed, Suzie got it full in the face while Dixie and Sue got the over splash. When they got back home poor Suzie was trying to rub it off on anything she could find.
We put them in the shower, which was a mistake because it now smells like skunk. I guess the smell will wear off eventually, just hope it's sooner than later.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
Sue is leaving with the girls for their morning walk. Just hope they don't run into the skunk again.
