Richard, we just had to replace a washer/dryer in an apartment. The old Maytag set was put in used 35 years ago. I'm sure it could have been fixed, but one repairman refused to come and look at it and Terry can't do it right now. We had had a couple calls over the years on both washer and dryer so decided to get a new set. The guys who delivered it told us we would be lucky to get 7 years out of the new set. Said the don't make them like the old Maytags anymore.

Had to replace the reverse osmosis system along with the dishwasher this year. Add to that a new roof on the house. It's been a expensive year.
