Good morning everyone. We had a bad storm last evening. About 7:30 it got as dark as midnight then the storm hit and lasted until late into the night. Dixie and Suzie didn't seem to worry about it as they slept through it.
After looking at the 63 Cadillac convertible I decided it was another money pit like the 73 Lincoln. So I will look for something else for Sue's birthday.
Today is going to be one of those days with nothing planned to do. I's nice to be retired and not forced to do anything at all. It's going to be a hot one today so being inside with the A/C blowing will be on the menu.
This summer has been a wet one. We have had a lot of rain so far. I can remember some summers when I was a kid it was so hot and dry the ponds dried up on the farm and Rocky creek stopped flowing. Briar Creek that flows into the Savannah River got down to a trickle. All the grass along the highways turned brown and it was a dust bowl in a lot of areas. Still I was out riding my bicycle and spending time outdoors with my friend Tommy. It didn't matter if it was 90 degrees or even hotter it was better to be outdoors than to be at home. Times change as we get older we get a different set of values. Now I had rather stay home than to be outdoors with the heat of summer.
Sue just left with the girls for their morning walk, hope they don't get skunked. The skunk smell has finally worn off Suzie, what a blessing.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
