Good morning everyone. Yes Rosie children and dogs, it doesn't get any better than that. It's 69 degrees here in the Deep South this morning. Sue just left with Dixie and Suzie going on their morning walk. Yesterday it was mostly cloudy all day. We didn't get any rain but some folks in our area did. There is a mystery at Lake Hartwell. A boat turned up with a cell phone and a dog on board , but no human. Police are searching the lake trying to figure out what happened. Only if dogs could talk. Thinking back over the years remembering some rescues there are those you never forget. Some I remember because of their happiness, others I remember because of their sadness. I will never forget a mama dog and her puppies left at a dumpster just outside Waynesboro. When I got there I was greeted by the mama dog wagging her tail glad to see help finally getting there. I started rounding up puppies, didn't know how many there were but mama did. Don't think a dog can count? When I thought I had all the puppies mama would not come to me she kept running behind the dumpster sniffing and scratching at the dirt. When I looked I found one more puppy. With that mama ran with me to the kennel crate where her other babies were waiting, stood there until I put in the last one and then she got into the crate with her babies. She was a very good mom and took care of each one until they were ready for adoption. Each pup found a good forever home and she found hers also.
Then there were the two dogs left on the side of the road next to a housing project out in Burke County. I was told each time a truck would pass by both dogs would run out into the road to see if the owner was coming back to get them. Finally on of the dogs was hit and killed by a passing vehicle. With his friend dead the other dog lay in the ditch next to his friend. That is where I found them when I went out to investigate. While I was talking to a lady who was telling me what she had seen the one dog that was mourning the loss of its friend, got into my truck through the door I left open. It just so happened someone was looking for a hound dog so I took it there and he was adopted the same day.
Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.
